Glamp in sacred space in this authentic Mongolian Yurt that was hand crafted in Mongolia, is surrounded by stunning beauty and serenaded by the creek just outside the door. There are fun things to explore in every direction. Take a hike on the property, or drive 10 minutes to Brainard Lake Recreation Area, 20 minutes to Nederland and it's beautiful hikes, 45 minutes to the main entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, and about 2o minutes to Boulder. This location is central to the best of CO. This is a traditional Mongolian Yurt made in Mongolia and located on a mile of private creek front property surrounded by National Forest. Monglian yurts are more rustic then their western counterparts. The walls are made of wool so sometimes you may smell that in which case you can open the solid door to air it out if you don't like it. Personally I like the smell. This structure is used by Mongolians who are nomadic so this is not a house experience or a 5 star hotel experience, it is more of a glamping experience. I experienced the classic contractor move of not doing his work correctly and the platform is not the way I would like it to be and it will have to be rebuilt next summer. In the meantime I have added carpet to try to cover it up. It is a work in progress so if you are not ok with it being a little rough around the edges please don't book it or review it based on something other than what is described here. I am working on adding solar and a bathroom with a solar shower and composting toilet but that won't be added until next summer. In the meantime there is no power but there are lanterns and there is no signal out here. There are a couple small places on the 42 acres of stunning private property that are being cleaned up from construction debris from the former owner and there is a place in the National Forest where people were building illegally that the Forest Service is supposed to be cleaning up. If you don't like these areas you don't need to go in them, they are not near the yurt and it is likely you won't even see them. There is plenty of unspoiled beauty around to enjoy. There is one full size bed and one full size futon on the floor that is propped up for seating but can be pulled flat for sleeping. There is a one burner butane stove, a grill, a campstove, hammock and one pan, plates, cups, silverware, a teapot, cooler and 3 camp chairs. There are stumps to sit on around the fire as well and a picnic table and you can bring the kitchen table chairs out to the fire too if you would like. The space is set up to accommodate 4 people. If more people come they will need sleeping bags and their own silverware etc. It is one large round space with no separate rooms. The "bathroom" is currently a privacy tent with a "loveable loo" inside with reliance biogel bags. You can look these things up online if you don't know what they are. The firepit is east of the yurt and surrounded by rocks.
The neighborhood is full of butterflies and hummingbirds and trees and the wildlife of the Rocky Mountains. The private property is surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest.
Parking is in a pullout on either side of the road. There are 2 bridges to cross from there to get to the yurt with a total walking distance of about 50 yards. the bridges are creative and a work in progress. There's a fallen tree presently at the far end of a bridge you will have to step over until I can get someone out here to remove it.
自我介绍
I am a Colorado native living in the mountains that feel most like my natural habitat. I live off-grid up here so I am aging before my time. Just kidding, it's a dream come true. I love CO and nature so please take care of it! :)
