The Santa Cruz quarter is, no doubt, the most beautiful quarter in Seville and the one local people are more proud of.
The intricate maze of narrow alleys, of medieval origins, the care in the conservation and maintenance of its old traditional buildings, the gardened patios, the artistic fountains, all of it results in an original style that immediately captivates the visitor through its harmony and beauty.
Santa Cruz is, also, the center of the historical old town of Seville. Most of the monuments and places of interest are either in the Quarter or at a short walking distance from it: Cathedral, Giralda tower, Torre del Oro (Gold tower, there is a Silver tower as well), Alcázar (Royal Palace and Fortress), Hospital de los Venerables, Santa María la Blanca church, Plaza de España, Gardens of Murillo, María Luisa Park... The list is infinite.
Most of Santa Cruz is pedestrians only zone, which is very convenient. Everything is arranged so that a visitor, in a short and nice walk, can reach the marvels that the city has to offer. Many bodegas, cafeterias and restaurants, as well as shops selling clothes, souvenirs, artisan products, even spices, offer refuge and entertainment to the weary or curious walker.
The Quarter is really a reflection of the local character: bustling with life and people, cheerful, witty and, most of all, welcoming. The visitor will, at times, have the feeling of having entered a gentle labyrinth in which, after having turned a corner, or crossed a passageway, there is a fountain to be found, maybe a blooming patio, or a romantic little restaurant. We strongly recommend you to abandone yourselves to this magic. To wander around freely. Perhaps, at the end of a random alley, you will find a special place to rest in, or eat, or just drink something, to be merry and call it your own.

Thanks to the great location of the apartment, usually the nicest and fastest way to get to the places of interest is walking.
Nevertheless, the public transportation system is a reliable and convenient option.
The basic fare for urban buses and trams is 1,40€ per ride paid only by cash to the driver. If your taking the tram, by purchasing a ticket in the tram stop.
For convenience and economy, our recommendation is to buy Tourist Travelcards (Tarjeta Turística) valid for 1 day (5€) or 3 days (10€) that allow for unlimited bus and tram trips. They charge a 1,50€ fee refundable if you return the card. They can be purchased at Puntos de Atención de TUSSAM (the closest one is only 9 minutes away from the apartment at el Prado de San Sebastián).
The Subway (Metro) has different fares and is not included in the Tourist Travelcard, so we don't recommend it.
For Bike rental: Rent-a-Bike Sevilla, in Plaza de Santa Cruz (200 meters from the apartment).
Other options are Uber or Cabify and taxis for outside the city center.
