I would definitely recommend booking this homestay alongside the cooking class experience with Sudesh. That way, you experience living and eating with a Sri Lankan family up in the hills of Kandy, rather than choosing a generic hotel. This is a homestay, so don't expect anything beyond that. The bedroom is simple & there is an ensuite toilet/shower. I had a really good night's sleep in there and felt refreshed and ready to go the next day. The real highlight is meeting Sudesh and his family - they are all so welcoming and make you feel at home. Their garden is beautiful, surrounded by nature, the breakfast was fantastic, and it was great chatting with them all and learning about life in Sri Lanka. This is a great value option for an authentic stay in Kandy.

My 9 year old son and I had a wonderful time with Sudesh and his family. They are truly beautiful people and they treated us like family members not like strangers. His 3 kids were so nice to my son that he was sad to leave. I could learn Srilankan cooking from his mother and wife, who are also kind and charming. It is definitely one of the most memorable moment in this trip. I didn’t find any restaurant in the village but I could ask for meal with additional cost. Their food was simply amazing and I will miss it so much. If you want to experience and feel real village life I would strongly recommend staying with this kind-hearted-family. 9歳の息子と一緒に5泊しました。 キャンディの街中から6キロほど離れた村の中のお家です。 地図検索では街中にあるように見えたのですが、旅行客を一人も見かけない、山肌に沿って広がる、本気の村でした。 道が細くて起伏もあり大きな車は入れないので、村人達はマイトゥクトゥクを持っているようです。 お家に併設されたキッチンでお料理教室も開かれています。 別料金で美味しい食事も用意してもらえます。 毎食家族の分とは別に辛くないものを作ってもらえたので、子どもでも美味しく食べられました。 家族はみなさんフレンドリーで、昔のウルルン滞在記のような旅になりました。
