Welcome to our Penthouse Studio apartment located in Dhumbahal Square, a serene and picturesque area of Old Patan, just 200 meters away from Patan Durbar Square. Situated on the top floor of a five-story building, this sunlit 25m2 studio offers a balcony with breathtaking views of a century-old Buddhist Stupa. Immerse yourself in the enchanting sight of the Stupa, the charming Old City skyline, and the joyful sight of children playing in the square, all of which are sure to brighten your day. The flat is composed of a fully equipped kitchen /bright living room, a bedroom with comfy bed and organic cotton linens, a small working space and 1 modern bathroom with good hot water. Great Wifi. The flat is extremely bright and well ventilated - It has windows on three faces. It is one of a kind in the old Patan. Guests can also use shared roof terrace on the top floor which has beautiful views. Guest have access to private washing machine which is free of cost.

Bright and airy, with the rooftop area right at the doorstep. It's hidden in a courtyard and surrounded by small temples. Cosy staff were all responsive and easy to work with.
Lovely, sunny apartment. It was well decorated and the bed was very comfy with soft sheets. It had a little balcony with and a roof terrace with a view. The location was great with lots of history, local sites, shops and places to eat/ drink. Great communication from the host - very friendly and helpful too!
Clean, had plentiful kitchen amenities. Overall, enjoyed the stay

The peaceful and pretty Dhumbahal square and its quiet stupa is a real gem.
The Old Patan is a fantastic area to stay in. It is much more authentic and traditional than touristic Thamel or Kathmandu and its heterogeneous concrete jungle. Here, right in the middle of a UNESCO heritage sites, you will be surrounded by many treasures: hindu temples everywhere, Buddhist stupas, hidden courtyards, secret paths, monasteries, local food spots...
In addition, the vibrant local life of the Newars (the original ethnic group of the Kathmandu Valley) guarantees you a very rich cultural experience.
On arrival, you will receive our Cosy Nepal handy guide book that contains all our best local tips and recommendations to have the best time in the old Patan.
Note that the Old Patan isn't a party area . There is plenty of very good restaurants and local food spots in our neighborhood but most of them will be closed before 10pm. At night, the area is very quiet. If you are looking for night entertainment please take a cab to go to Jhamsikhel or to Thamel

Taxi can be found in Durbar Square and Patan Dhoka at all time of the day and night.
There are two big public bus stations around (10 min walk away from us): Lagankhel and Patan Dokha.
From there you can go down to Kathmandu Ratna Park and to many places and villages around.
As a general fact, we discourage our guests to be systematically brought back by taxi or car until our front door (beside the first day of course!). The old Patan is a very fragile area and cannot handle too much traffic and pollution.
Ask the taxi to drop you in Mangal Bazar or in Patan Dhoka and have a walk in all those beautiful small alleys and courtyards to reach our house, it is much healthier and enjoyable for all ;-)
