Hunter Hales "KALA" is one of two identical 810 sqft cottages on one half acre lot privately located just behind the Haiku Town center. Conveniently located at the start of the Road to Hana. Enjoy the quiet laid back life style of a classic Hawaii country town. You will feel so at home within the detailed cottage, equipped with everything one would possibly need while on vacation. This is local Maui vacationing at it's best! The cottage is to be rented to one group at a time. The backyard is the perfect space to wind down in the light of the setting sun after a day full of Maui adventuring!

Was in Maui for a few days and my stay at Mike's place couldn't have been better! I was expecting it to be nice but it was even better than expected, thus I'm certain that most people will be surprised to the upside as I was. It's tucked away on a short private road, the house is extremely clean, with a super layout........and the location is private.....yet it's only a two minute walk to several restaurants, stores (including a grocery store), and a post office (which I needed). I would definitely stay here again if I get the opportunity to do so! A terrific place to stay!
This place is absolutely beautiful. It's calm, quiet, peaceful and so very relaxing. It's everything that Hawaii should be!
This was one of the best Airbnb stays we have ever had. Mike's place was so convenient to get to, but felt so private and quiet. The town is so fun to walk around and you can just walk from the house to get to everything you need. Highly recommend!
Amazing stay, although a bit of a drive, I would recommend for someone who is looking for a peaceful stay. The cottage is completely surrounded by greenery with a few roosters here and there.
I got exactly what I paid for and more! Everything was effortless from the booking to the helpful info to help me get settled in. Any questions I had were answered PROMPTLY! Love the property and how peaceful and private it is. The location is supurb. I could easily walk to the well stocked supermarket, yummy restaurants, and if you like to work out, there is a gym and at least 2 yoga studio’s nearby. I will be back! Thank you so much for the amazing accommodations ❤️

The cottages are conveniently located within walking distance to the hub of our charming Haiku Town. There are many restaurants and cafes within the small town center, including local fish Tacos, exquisite Japanese and Sushi, beer garden ,Mediterranean, locally brewed Kombucha, Vegetarian, Vegan, Steaks, Pasta, Burgers and Local Grinds!
With Haiku Market grocery store, open 7am - 9pm well within walking distance from your front door there is an option to cook many meals from home. There's also a gym with yoga classes and more, Maui Jujitsu taught by world class teachers, hardware store, post office and even "Haleakala Bike Company" for the adventurous way to descend down the sloops of Mt Haleakala.
We recommend guests to rent a car.
The cottage is about 25 minutes from Kahului airport.

*15 minutes drive to Makawao forest reserve and Makawao town.
