I am from Dusseldorf in Germany and speak fluent German, Turkish and English. Along with my listings on AirBnB, I operate an art gallery and a restaurant in Kumkapi-Fatih, which is one of the most attractive and appealing neighbourhoods in Istanbul to visitors; central to all the historic landmarks, museums, and amazing shopping experiences the city has to offer. With three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, I understand all the potential problems and pitfalls international travelers to Istanbul can encounter, which is why I take every care and precaution to assist my guests, so you can have as enjoyable and carefree a time as possible in our colourful city. For example, if you are coming here by taxi I encourage you to give your driver my personal cellphone. This way I can communicate with him in Turkish for you and give him directions to simplify your journey, giving you one less thing to worry about and an efficient taxi ride. Additionally, should you accidentally forget something in the cab I have your driver’s number on my cellphone to follow-up with him for you to retrieve your personal belongings. This has happened to my guests before, and this is just one way I can help you avoid a potential problem during your stay here. I have 12 apartments on AirBnB, one of which will be right for you. In Düsseldorf geboren habe ich die ersten 20 Jahre meines Lebens in Deutschland verbracht. Meine Familie ging 1987 in die Türkei zurück. Dort besuchte ich eine Hotel-Fachschule und war danach lange Jahre als food & beverages Manager beim Robinson Club tätig. Danach entschloss ich mich, selbstständig zu werden und betreibe nun das Tiryakii Restaurant (siehe dazu: Reiseführer „Baedeker – Istanbul“ Ausgabe 2013 S. 99) im Fischrestaurant-Viertel von Kumkapı, also in unmittelbarer Nähe Ihrer Ferienwohnung. Ich freue mich schon darauf, Sie dort als meine Gäste begrüßen zu dürfen und Ihnen mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung zu stehen. Selbstverständlich spreche ich immer noch fließend Deutsch.
