Ground Floor: Living/dining room: Smart TV, Woodburner Kitchen: Range, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Wine Cooler Bedroom 1: Single (3ft) Bed First Floor: Bedroom 2: Kingsize (5ft) Bed, (En-Suite Also Accessed From Hallway) Ensuite: Bath With Shower Attachment, Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. . Front garden. Back garden with patio, summerhouse, sitting-out area and garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking.. This lovely Cottage is packed with original features and just oozes charm. As you first enter, you will find yourself in a handy lobby for storing shoe and coats, then through the traditional oak-braced latched door, you will enter the cosy living room with stunning beams, dining area with log burning stove. The kitchen is off the living room and is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and a wine cooler. On the first floor, you find two bedrooms, a single bedroom with views over the garden plus a spacious kingsize bedroom with beautiful feature beams. This floor also has its bathroom that Jack and Jill’s between the master bedroom and second bedroom. Outside, to the rear is a real suntrap of a garden where you can sit out whatever the weather making use of the lovely summer house which has views over the fells. Visit the pretty town of Appleby, enjoy a tour of the castle or take a trip along the Carlisle to Settle Railway line which stops off in the town. The market town of Penrith is also just a short drive away for a great day out with lots of shops and restaurants. The Lake District is just a short drive away where you could enjoy a trip on one of the Ullswater Steamers or take a tour of a local distillery. Free WiFi Can comfortably fit up to 3 people

The cottage itself was cute but lots of faults that made the stay disappointing. Things like having to bring your own logs for the fire, the single bedroom had empty cans and junk under the bed, and the ceiling light wasnt working. The information booklets not found until the evening before we left, no lighting to the rear garden, found dvds but no player to be able to watch them, no cleaning products just to spray and wipe down surfaces after use, the hoover wasn't emptied from previous users so needless to say we didn't empty it either. The front entrance to the cottage was unkempt and messy, which spoiled the appearance of the cottage. Not even a little welcome pack, these little touches, and easy to find items and notes make the difference to stays. We wouldn't stay here again, which is a shame because the locate was good.
the cottage itself was nice especially the bathroom, squeaky clean inside with gorgeous surroundings and well kitted out. however, there was no washing up liquid, no hand soap or any powders to use with the washing machine. cottages ,com unfortunately did not provide the right address on Airbnb. the address attached to the listing is in another part of town, the actual address was listed in the jumbled up confirmation message that was sent on airbnb. we could not get a hold of the OOH department via their phone numbers when we were struggling to find the place, and there was no picture on airbnb of the exterior of the property so we had no idea what house we were looking for. i ended up finding a picture of the property on their website and used that instead. on the last day we were going to request a later check out but unfortunately the local office was closed despite the head office saying they were open from 10am, not a massive issue but did add to our frustrations.
Beautiful cottage and a great location for walks in the Pennines and Lakes.
