Hi, I'm Daniela! More than talking about me I would like to try to tell a bit about "Villa Del Papa, even if a whole book would be needed to discover its vicissitudes !!!!! The story of Villa Del Papa could start with just .... "Once upon a time" ...... yes, there was once a child who left Italy to chase the dream called America at the age of 14 in 1918, disembarking at Ellis Island alone and without shoes because the storm had taken it from him during the crossing ...... .... Giovanni Senior returned in 1964 in his Italy and in his country that he had never forgotten with his realized dream and fell in love with the property known as "La Fattoria" which he bought from Count Barsotti. "The farm" included the manor house dating back to the 18th century where Giovanni Senior moved with his family and the servants' quarters, the current "Villa Del Papa.! The renovations of what is now known as "Villa Del Papa" were unfortunately interrupted by the death of Giovanni Senior and remained dormant for several years (my husband, Giovanni Junior was 17 at the time) ... So much history it has passed, love and dedication to this place have never changed, our family has managed to finish the work and create a little paradise (so our guests have called it!) that we wanted to share with you . The particularity of our location is that of being a small oasis of greenery, peace and tranquility in the middle of a country village that offers every kind of service, all you could need is "at hand " In the true sense of the word ! You will learn to know the life of the country with its beautiful Romanesque church of 1100 that stands right in front of the entrance of the villa, to walk through the streets of the village and to discover its paths among the green, to buy local products and in the end to take refuge in the atmosphere of "Villa Del Papa" .... Welcome, you are at home! is the motto of Giovanni Junior, Daniela and their family ! Ciao, sono Daniela! Piu' che parlare di me vorrei provare a raccontare un po' di " Villa Del Papa, anche se sarebbe necessario un intero libro per scoprirne le vicissitudini!!!!! La storia di Villa Del Papa potrebbe cominciare proprio con.... "C'era una volta"...... si, c'era una volta un bambino che all'eta' di 14 anni nel lontano 1918 lascio' l'Italia per rincorrere il sogno chiamato America, sbarco' ad Ellis Island solo e senza scarpe perche' la mareggiata gliela aveva portate via durante la traversata...... ....Giovanni Senior torno' nel 1964 nella sua Italia e nel suo paese che mai aveva dimenticato con il suo sogno realizzato e si innamoro' della proprieta' conosciuta come" La Fattoria" che compro' dal conte Barsotti . " La fattoria "comprendeva la villa padronale che risale al '700 dove Giovanni Senior si trasferi' con la famiglia e le abitazioni della servitu', l'attuale" Villa Del Papa.! I lavori di ristrutturazione di quella che oggi e' conosciuta come " Villa Del Papa" furono purtroppo interrotti dalla morte di Giovanni Senior e rimasero in sospeso per parecchi anni (mio marito, Giovanni Junior all'epoca aveva 17 anni !) ... Tanta storia e' passata , l'amore e la dedizione per questo luogo non sono mai cambiati , la nostra famiglia e' riuscita a terminare i lavori e a creare un piccolo paradiso ( "un pezzo di cielo sulla terra", cosi' lo hanno apostrofato i nostri ospiti!) che abbiamo voluto condividere con voi . La particolarita' della nostra location e' quella di essere una piccola oasi di verde, pace e tranquillita' nel bel mezzo di un paesino di campagna che offre ogni tipo di servizio , tutto quello di cui potreste avere bisogno e' "a portata di mano" nel vero senso della parola ! Imparerete a conoscere la vita del paese con la sua bellissima chiesa in stile romanico del 1100 che si erge proprio di fronte all'ingresso della villa , a passeggiare tra le strade del borgo e a scoprire i suoi percorsi tra il verde , a comprare prodotti locali e alla fine a rifugiarvi nell'atmosfera di "Villa Del Papa" con le sue luci e il suo romanticismo!.... Benvenuti, siete a casa! e' il motto di Giovanni Junior, Daniela e la loro famiglia!!!!
