A historically important home, converted from a 19th century schoolhouse, and situated midway between London and the coastal resort of Brighton. The house is in a peaceful English village in a designated official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with beautiful walks right from the back door. It is furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and modern, along with original art. The surrounding area has many historic houses to visit, as well as having good access to the historic towns of Canterbury and Winchester. Horse riding, cycling and walking are all popular locally in Ashdown Forest (home of Winnie the Pooh!), and there are opportunities for fishing, golf and horse-racing. Gatwick International Airport is 25 mins away; London is 50 minutes by train; Brighton is 1hr. There are two double bedrooms (with antique bedframes and luxury Vi-Spring mattresses), and two single rooms (one with small bunk bed suitable for a child). Two bathrooms - one with bath, and one with power shower. All beds have Egyptian cotton sheets and designer bedlinen. This is a family home, with bags of quirky charm - so please don't expect a bland hotel! A car is necessary (no public transport I'm afraid).
