Our Hiker's House is an excellent base for exploring Queenstown and the surrounding area. Hear the whistle before the Wilderness Railway pulls out of Queenstown each morning and returns in the afternoon - so you can watch and wave from the front deck. Enjoy local short walks to the Confluence (where the King and Queen Rivers meet) or Horsetail Falls, or a longer hike to Kelly's Basin and Pillinger - a town reclaimed by the rainforest. Guests will take the small number of steps onto the front deck, which has a coffee table and 2 seater chair. The front door opens onto an open plan living, dining and kitchen space. The living space has a reverse cycle air-conditioning unit to heat or cool the house. Like many houses in Queenstown, the floor has been restumped, but is not completely even. From the kitchen, guests take a step up to a short hall that leads to the back door (leads to an under cover area with an outdoor dining table and chairs), the bathroom (shower over the bath) and a toilet.
