Star gaze in hot tub, front deck, screened back patio or Fire pit. Only 10 min/6 miles to uptown/OU campus. This Cabin's rd connect to Athens local thruway rd & straight 3 mi to Athens City & hwy 33. On the side of Athens' closer Hocking Hills, Baileys, Strouds Park & Wayne National Forest Hiking/biking trails. - Take the High Ground & Sleep Good Here knowing you are supporting locals and protecting Athens' Forest. - Central location to Athens sites & 10 min to OU - Closer to Hocking Hills as 3 miles to Hwy 33 - Drive mostly flat and straight local roads to town you can avoid the typical Athens' country roads that are dark, winding, and confusing with limited Cell service for GPS mapping. - New custom built & furnished specific for airbnb guest to retreat privately in nature. - Wi-Fi is fast & reliable - you will have Cell Service,& WiFi calling - 4 guests will be comfortable and Cozy in this cabin (King bed room & Queen loft bedroom) - Hot Tub for soaking and star gazing in complete private tranquility - Multiple outdoor seating areas: hot tub/back deck, screened in patio, & front deck & Fire ring. Sarah and James were incredible hosts! We had a perfect experience every step of the way. The High Ground cabin is as described and pictured, and the property is so beautiful and serene. We appreciated the thoughtful details such as information on local history and snacks! Communication couldn't have been better! Sarah and James are genuinely kind people who went out of their way to make sure that we had a fantastic experience. We're so grateful that we got to meet them and look forward to coming back to High Ground soon!
Wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful new cabin, pristine condition, tons of privacy, and immersed in nature. Sarah was a great host and was very responsive. We hope to stay again sometime.

Hello, Staying at Sarah's Cabin was absolutely amazing. The amount of things that were already there was mind-blowing. Anything you could have forgotten didn't matter because she had it, whether it was kitchen supplies, linens, or hygienic products. Upon arrival, the Cabin was spotless, and Sarah was extremely attentive. She did not hesitate to reach out and check on me during my stay. Sarah's response time was impeccable and instantaneous. Overall, I would come back in a heartbeat and give the Cabin a 10/10!

Athens Uptown OU Campus court Street (5 miles) is worth a visit for quant shopping, dining and breweries after visiting the area’s recreational sites.
This is an authentic Athens' Appalachian neighborhood with a history of coalmine land ownership. You will drive will by coalmine rental properties managed by out of state inattentive landlords who have been deforesting our neighborhood. Your stay helps prevent Coalmine deforestation.
High Ground cabin is on Mt Nebo high elevation ridgeline with historic significance connections to George Washington, Native American Spiritual leaders, Johnny Apple seed, Jonathan Koons, Aethel Eldridge, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead and many more that considered this land scared as the 'Ying and Yang of universe".
If you are curious then come sleep under centuries old scared trees and curl up in the newly furnished cabin to read the “Enchanted Grounds” book written about this high ground land.
Athens’ roads are hilly, you will appreciate only traveling 1.5 miles down our paved country cabin road to be directly connected to one of Athens main thruway road that is a straight 3 miles to highway 33 or OU Campus/court St (6 miles).
Explore Wayne National Forest and Baileys Trailhead which is only 4.5 miles from our cabin via a direct local road connection.
Strouds Run State Park trails & Beach is only two turns on 7 miles of local roads.
If you prefer highway travel our cabin is only 3 miles to highway 33 entrance
To visit Hocking Hills Park, travel west on 33 hwy for 30 min to exit onto OH-180 W then follow Hocking Hills Park signs,

I own 220 acres of Athens Forest with many positive effects on air, water, soil & wild life. Athens forests is 1 of the richest land ecosystems, almost rivalling tropical rainforests.
