Alan is a wonderful host, attentive and friendly. The house is perfectly situated overlooking the harbour and was pristine inside. Alan met us off the ferry and drove us round to the house, a lovely introduction to the weekend. Great house, great host. Thoroughly recommended.

Alan and Hilary made the stay fantastic. They made contact and arranged check in around our sailing times. When we were caught out by bad weather for our return sailing, the hosts we super helpful in extending our stay. Fantastic hosts. We hope to return.

The cottage is a few minutes walk from the ferry, the local co-op and pub. Perfectly situated for a relaxing stay surrounded in idyllic surroundings. Staying with my 2 daughters (16 and 21), we enjoyed beautiful walks that are clearly signposted, enjoyed the wildlife and got a chance to relax. Host was friendly and responded really quickly to a few questions I had. I’ve already recommended here to a friend for a summer stay.

We had an absolutely amazing time during our stay at Arkell Cottage on Rathlin Island. The whole experience was smooth from start to finish thanks to Alan. I don’t think we’ve ever felt so well rested! We couldn’t have asked for more, the cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed to facilitate our stay. It was warm and cosy throughout with a wonderful view, and in a perfect location, we simply loved it! Alan is a fantastic host and met us as we were travelling over on the ferry, giving us all the information we needed for our stay, on the day we checked out he kindly gave us a lift back to the ferry, great to chat to and knew a lot about the island and what it had to offer. We will definitely be back for more!

We had a lovely few days on Rathlin Island. The house was perfect and next door to the cosy pub so very convenient. We had 4 x 12 year olds who enjoyed the freedom of the outdoors. We just missed the puffins by being a week early so we plan to return agsin soon!
