YOU MUST BOOK in advance. Every day is normally booked out a week in advance if not more.

SALT CAVE/INFRARED SAUNA/ICE BATH:
Only a 7 min drive from Alkira and you can treat yourself to a couples salt cave session, the benefits are amazing!!. (Bookings are essential). There are also couple infrared sessions and and an ICE bath option coming soon. Looking forward to trying out the fire and ice challenge!!
HORSE RIDING:
Avoca Park Equestrian offers a variety of experiences with their horses, ponies and donkeys. To compliment the time you have with their wonderful animals, why don’t you enjoy a specially created lunchtime picnic? Or afternoon tea at the Memorial Reserve after your horse ride.

Alkira also offers Firewood. We have 15 kg bags of Bluegum firewood available for just $15 per bag, which includes some kindling. If you're interested in purchasing one or two bags, please contact Andrew on and he will deliver the bags to your accommodation for your convenience.
PENNY OLIVE BAKERY:
On Saturdays, from 9.30am-12.30pm, we supply bread, pastries, muffins, tarts, focaccia, pizza bases and more directly from our little bakery in The Patch located at number 1 Peel Street, The Patch.
On Saturday evening's, we transform our bakery into a pizzeria, serving authentic Italian style pizzas for takeaway between 5.00pm-7.00pm.
TRANSPORT: we do NOT have ANY Ubers in the area. We have one local cab driver who needs to be booked well in advance as she is super busy. Please contact me for details.

Killik Bottomless Brunch - Only on Sundays between 12pm-2pm, the kitchen and bar at Killik go wild. With our bottomless brunch you get 4 delicious courses and unlimited drinks including 7 different cocktails, and tapped beer.
Penny Olive Cooking Classes - Penny Olive Sourdough offer hands-on sourdough baking classes twice a month on a Sunday. We also run extra classes for small groups by request.
Penny Olive Sourdough Pizza, Focaccia and Puccia classes run on four Sundays per year from 8.30am until 4.00pm. Private classes are also available on request.

UBERS are not available in this area. If you need any sort of transport you will need to contact the host. There is one cab driver in the area and needs to be booked well in advance.
Alkira is located in Emerald, Victoria, Australia.
Alkira is less than an hour from Melbourne CBD and can be accessed via the Monash and Eastern
freeways. The 40-acre (16Ha) property is centrally located on a sealed road, midway between the townships of Emerald, Monbulk and Kallista. Excellent supermarkets and shops are located in Emerald and Monbulk (10 mins by car).
Alkira is located in the heart of the area known as the Dandenongs, renowned for its beautiful scenery and pretty townships.
There are many things to do in the area including wineries, cafes, restaurants and beautiful gardens. In Belgrave, there is the Cameo Cinema complex, much loved by locals, (15 minutes away), containing in part an original "art deco" cinema. An excellent train service to Melbourne also operates from Belgrave (less than an hour to city).
Puffing Billy historic steam train line operates from Emerald, be sure to book ahead.
There are also National Parks to visit and numerous walks/bike trails to go on. In fact, one walking trail is located literally 20 metres from your cottage (adjoins estate boundary). Dandenong Ranges National Park is only 15 mins away by car.
