We’d love you and your friends and family to come and stay in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges at Birdview. If you’re after a long stay coming from overseas to see family, or a local looking for a nature-filled long weekend our home is yours to enjoy. Meet Rainbow Lorikeets, King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas, Magpies and laughing Kookaburras. Sit on the back deck under the tall gums (or in the jacuzzi!), on the alfresco balcony or the comfy couch, looking across the valley to Sherbrooke Forest. Why Birdview? When we bought this place we were lucky enough to meet the locals who’d come to visit - think colourful Rainbow Lorikeets, King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas; warbling Magpies and laughing kookaburras (see real pics attached). You do need to watch out for those bossy cockatoos though! So about that view … You can choose to sit on the deck out the back under the tall gums (or in the jacuzzi!) - even at night it’s pretty special - the alfresco table on the balcony or the comfy couch - all of which let you look across the valley to the trees of Sherbrooke Forest. Especially mystical, and mist-acle on misty mornings. Amenities The Galley Kitchen open up and looks out to the rear garden, and is equipped with: Gas cooktop Brand new oven LG dishwasher A Breville Barista Express machine to grind and make your own coffee first thing in the morning (coffee beans provided); Russell Hobbs Brooklyn Kettle; Russell Hobbs 4 slice toaster; Fully stocked with all kitchen utensils to cook up a storm along with all core pantry items you may need ... feel free to help yourself but it'd be great to re-stock for the next guest if you run low. In the bathroom you’ll find a spa, perfect for a little “me time” to relax and read. Whether it’s warm or cool outside, inside you’re covered, with reverse cycle heating/cooling units, and ceiling fans in all rooms, as well as in floor gas ducted heating. Of course in those cooler days and evenings you’ll probably love putting on a cozy wood fire as much as we do (firewood supplied). Perfect for playing board games (BYO or we’ve got a selection of games, books and lego). Brand new, quiet Bosch washer and dryer in the downstairs laundry - perfect for those staying longer (BYO laundry powder). We’ve supplied a little Weber Q barbecue for those that are wanting to cook outside for those summer evenings. Please book for all guests staying overnight and we deem a booking is based on 2 people per room - please book an extra room or 2 if you want 1 person per room as it means extra cleaning and linen costs-thanks Heart of the Dandenongs Check out the official VisitDandenongRanges website for all the local attractions including: In Belgrave, the Puffing Billy railway, good for young and old (make sure you book this straight away), Treetops for those that love to climb; Gardens, check out the magnificent Dandenong Botanic Gardens, including the brand new Chelsea Australia Garden, or Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens; while away an afternoon in the cute Dandenong towns of Olinda, Sassafras and Kallista with a selection of local shops and eateries.
