I just spent 4 days at Harry's place with my dog Reggie, it was a great experience. I didn't really know anything about Montclair until I booked the house, but it's a perfect dog-friendly mix of parks, walkable neighborhoods and some great urban-feeling density with lots of great restaurants. We needed to get away for a few days after dropping my wife off at EWR. I didn't know much about North Jersey, but the listing stood out due to it's location and the fact that it has a great work-from-home office (the house is newly renovated and beautiful - the pics are accurate!). The house is a 10 minute walk from the main drag of Bloomfield Ave., and a 5 minute drive from the what seems to be the dog mecca of Brookdale Park. Great location if you want to go into NYC, as the Walnut St. NJ Transit station is a 5 minute walk down the hill (and I think a 37 minute ride to Penn Station?). I can't recommend Harry's place enough, AND it's pet friendly! 4 paws up/5 stars.

Montclair also has a number of smaller parks and playgrounds scattered throughout the town.
