My stay was absolutely amazing. Michael and Stellavera are wonderful and naturally caring folks. As we all know, Alaska's weather can change in a heartbeat. Michael was always there to make sure I was warm, dry, comfortable and enjoying my time. They also upgraded me to a little cabin since it was available at that time. They're around if you want someone to talk to or need tourist ideas, but they also give you your space. It was a good balance. I feel like I have a new family that would welcome me back anytime in the great state of Alaska!! The homestead is breathtaking in every direction! You won't find a better view of Kachemak Bay... believe me, I tried! I stayed in this adorable little cabin and was surrounded by nature. A few moose came through and knocked some brush down, exposing an even better view of the mountains, glaciers, and bay. The beach access was a journey in itself. The eagles, the boats, the salmon jumping, the large mounds of natural coal lying around the shores... amazing! This is the link to the cabin. And if you like a good intelligent conversation, don't hesitate to pick their brains! They are well versed in life and have a lot of amazing stories and experiences. I'm already planning a trip back! We stayed there for 3 nights and if we could have spend more time there we definitely would have done it! Michael was really friendly and helped us organize our stay in Homer. He even did some calls for us so that it was easy for us to go for a great Hiking to the Glacier, get some great coffee at two sisters and even more things. Thanks a lot Michael for the tasty salmon you prepared for us and the nice dinner and talks in your cosy tent. If you come to the Kilcher's Homestead you will be flashed! The view is breathtaking and we've never seen such a beautyful sport.. We enjoyed the 3h walk in the evening on the beach (just 10 minutes walk down from the place). It was calm and we just went along the shore for.... absolutely gorgeous!! Stellavera wasn't in town because of working but we had a face time talk to her. From the beginning of arriving at kilcher's homestead we felt comfortable and to be welcomed. if you are interested in integrative medicine: talk to Michael.. it's worth it :) @Stellavera: thanks for helping us with all those information about alaska even if it had nothing to do with our stay at your homestead! You make our trip perfect :) So what shall I say.. Visit the Kilcher's, because is spectacular! Rebekka&Felicia

Amazing stay at Stellavera's yurt! Beautiful views of the water & mountains - you can't go wrong here!! This was one of the highlights of our 4+ months on the road.

Stellavera and her husband were perfect hosts! She was communicative, accessible, warm, and so prepared to receive me. I learned so much about the history of the homestead and the inspirational Kilcher legacy. It really set the tone for my Alaskan experience. As for the actual space: it is an outdoorsy experience, so expect there to be some walking and exposure to the elements. But if you're like me, that's what you're excited to sign up for!! The tent was well thought out, with great placement providing AMAZING views and accommodations for storage, seating, cooking, etc. The outdoor shower was so refreshing and unique, and the property was delightful to explore. I have been telling literally everyone(including you right now!) about what a great time I had at this Airbnb. I wouldn't change a thing about it :) Thanks so much for such a positive experience
