Stay in the top floor of our house in Zaandam, a quiet city very close to Amsterdam. You will stay on the top floor, where you will find a bedroom, a living room/office and a balcony. Bathroom and toilet are shared with us. You can reach Amsterdam Central in 35 min by bus+metro or train, Zaandam Center in 15 min walking, Zaanse Schans and the windmills in 15 min by bus and the airport within 40 min by train. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby and there is free parking in the neighbourhood. We live in a 4 floors house and you will have the bedroom on the top floor. There you will find everything you need for a short stay: a spacious bedroom with 2 single beds put together and a living room with couch, desk and TV with Chromecast. The living room is shared, but we are almost never there. You will also have a private balcony where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning or just relax during the day. Wash machine and dryer are also located on the top floor and you can use. The bathroom and toilet are shared with us and those are on the 2nd floor of the house, one floor below where you will be staying. Microwave, fridge, water kettle and coffee machine are available in your space. Towels and bed linen are provided as well as shower amenities. Free WIFI and free parking in the neighbourhood. We have a dog in the house but he has no access to your floor.

Nous avons passé une nuit chez Duane, l’accueil fut super, d’une gentillesse incroyable. L’hébergement est très bien situé pour se rendre sur Amsterdam et dispose de tous le nécessaire pour passer un super séjour! Je recommande et reviendrai avec plaisir!
Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt bei Isabella und Duane. Duane war uns bereits vor unserer Anreise behilflich mit Informationen zur Nutzung des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs in Amsterdam. Isabella hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen und alles gezeigt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr empfehlenswert für einen Besuch von Amsterdam und ebenfalls in der Nähe von Zaanse Schans. Wir hatten eine eigene Etage für uns mit eigenem Balkon. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Very nice place to stay in Amsterdam, definitely worth the price, Duane is a nice host and love to communicate with you, so if you are visiting highly recommends.
Das Zimmer und der Nebenraum bieten eine tolle Aussicht. Duane hat mich an der Türe im Empfang genommen und mir alles nötige gezeigt. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig. Parkplätze in der Nähe sind vorhanden. Wenn man kein Problem mit steilen Treppen hat, ist die Lage im obersten Stock ideal. Man ist da sehr privat für sich und ruhig ist es dazu. Gerne wieder.

Just 300m away there is a bus stop where you can take buses to Amsterdam Noorderpark (metro station), Amsterdam Noord (metro station), Marken and Zaandam. The center of Zaandam (where the train station is) is just 15min walking distance so you have easy access to the airport.
From December 2023 to September 2024 there are no direct buses from Zaandam to Amsterdam Central. To get there you have to go by train or take the buses 391/394 until the Noorderpark metro station. From station Noorderpark, you can take the metro for just one stop to Amsterdam Central station.
For those coming by Flixbus, station Sloterdijk can be easily reached by train or buses. If you are coming by car, there is free parking on the street.
For public transport, be aware that the GVB pass is NOT accepted in the buses to Zaandam (only inside Amsterdam). The best option is getting the Amsterdam Region Travel Ticket, so you can travel unlimited across Amsterdam and cities around (including Zaandam). Prices per person are: 1-day (€ 21), 2-day (€ 31,50) and 3-day (€ 40.50). It is valid for all public transports, including the train and can be bought at the airport, Amsterdam Central station and other main train stations.
