I admire what the host O’Neil is trying to accomplish providing for his 3 generation household. I feel torn writing this but ultimately understand it’s dangerous, awful & feel obligated to warn others. The shack has no a/c or fan just mosquitoes, roaches & massive arachnids On top a mountain 30+ min walk, then down a slippery hillside which I slid & fell down many times after rainfall and I’m an avid hiker. Stairway has exposed rebar that I avoided impaling myself on. Toilet 🚽 doesn’t flush so used a filled up 5 gallon pail. No towels or tissue. Moldy odor. Kitchen stovetop not hooked up to gas. Porch has unreinforced plywood section which sags & surely’ll collapse if not fixed. Drinking water emerges from a pipe a quarter mile roundtrip traversing slippery stones. Host slyly tried to get me to buy food for him at the grocery store by filling up a basket, handed it to me then leaving me in the queue whilst he vanished into the back of the store. He cuts down fresh coconuts 4 u!

We’re return guests at Oneil’s and recommend this spot for anyone who enjoys a natural rustic setting that is still close to everything in Port Antonio!

such a little gem .nature in Portland was the perfect getaway , chill spot . lots of serene views , very quiet , very tucked off . the bungalow is rustic and super cute . Oniel is the best and will ensure you have all of your needs met . must book !
