Merceline‘s place is amazing, you feel immediately at home. The architecture of the room is great - unfortunately you don‘t see it that well on the photos: there is one big window door, but the other half of the room is open, leaving a breeze of cool air in during the hot nights. The kitchen is fully equipped and guests are allowed to use tea and coffee as well as other basic ingredients for cooking (spices, salt etc). The houskeeper cleans daily (and would even change sheets if desired). The place is a one minute walk from the beach (and beach bars/restaurant) and 3-5 minutes to shops and local restaurants. We extended our stay two times (from initially 3 to 5 nights) because we enjoyed it that much and would definitely recommend!

Merceline was an excellent host! From the moment I expressed interest in staying at her place, to my check-out, she was all hands on deck with anything that I needed. Before I checked in, she shared a really well thought out welcome note which I found super helpful when navigating logistics around Watamu. Her recommendations for places to eat (I really enjoyed dining at Sunset Beach and Kokomo Beach restaurants!) and activities to do were nice and it really helped that her house is a walking distance to the beach. She was also kind enough to let me extend my stay since I had a late night trip back. An overall great and friendly host with a beautiful space!

Merceline’s place is beautiful and strategically located close to the beach .. I enjoyed my stay and she is the loveliest host , very responsive and always present to assist with everything . Worth every coin and I will definitely be back when I visit watamu again 🤗
