This area is famous for the old tin, copper and other metal mine workings. The cottage is right beside the World Heritage Site that covers Cornish mines. With very little ambient light at night and bordering on a dark sky area, star gazing is a must.
There is easy access to beaches, on both the South and North coasts with all the pleasures of wild swimming, surfing, kayaking, cycling, pony trekking and more!
Lots of pretty villages and towns are within a 30 minute drive for a chance purchase or just browsing in art galleries, independent shops or antique centres.

Caradon Cottage is just outside the village of Crows Nest (with its excellent pub!). There are a few other pubs, tearooms and cafes within walking distance - plus many more a short drive away.
Close to the Devon border with easy access from the A30 to the north (30 minutes) or A38 to the south (20 minutes) and only 15 minutes from Liskeard with its railway station with fast trains to London and onwards down to Penzance.
Getting around is easy by car and an hourly bus route (day/early evening) also runs past the bottom of the driveway.
There is ample parking onsite and a secure garage for bikes, kayaks, etc if required.
A village shop in the village of Pensilva is open early to late and also has a cash machine outside so you can easily top up your main shop with a 30 minute walk over the moor. There is a local veg growing project with a stall also in Pensilva and you'll see various households selling eggs as well.
