The place itself was very clean and as described. There just isn't a lot to do in the surrounding area. There also aren't any busses that go out to that area so it's very hard to get around. There's a lovely pub just down the street which is walkable. I don't think Toby has a lot of experience with Airbnb. When you get there make sure you take pictures of all the bowls. We originally got blamed by his cleaner for one that went "missing" and another one that had been chipped which we had nothing to do with. I found this very bizarre as I've stayed at tons of airbnbs and could never picture someone blaming us for such a weird thing. He did drop that claim as I imagine his cleaner must have realized she miscounted the bowls, but then they claimed we damaged all the towels with bleach which we don't even use. These claims really did leave a bad taste in our mouths and just made the whole experience a bad one as we had to pay for the damages. Would have been 4 stars without this.
Was honestly one of the best places we have stayed and we stay away alot in airbnbs. The standard of finish and furnishings was great and the open fire and wood was icing on the cake. Thanks so much we would definitely stay again if in the area
We loved Toby's cottage - beautiful, quiet location and just a few mins walk to the pub for dinner. The property was spotless, and really nicely furnished - all the charm and character of an old English country cottage but updated with all modern comforts! We'll be back and would highly recommend!
