MUJI BASE TESHIMA is located in Teshima, a small island in Kagawa Prefecture where rich nature and art color the entire island. Although it is a world-famous art sanctuary such as the Teshima Museum of Art, the nostalgic cityscape and the heartwarming daily lives of the islanders overlap well. In Teshima, a place where modern culture and island life are mixed, a new base has been created where you can spend "extraordinary, everyday life on the island". The interior design brand IDÉE has created a space based on the theme of Japanese aesthetic and design. Vintage Japanese furniture, modern interior design, and works by Japanese artists were coordinated. The tableware used during the stay is selected from contemporary artists working mainly in the Setouchi area around Teshima. Enjoy your stay with a selection of vinyl records and books from MUJI BOOKS, which add color to the room, and have a relaxing time. We have 17 MUJI food products and 11 island foods selected by MUJI as amenities, including 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. You can prepare and enjoy your own meals during your stay.

It was a great experience staying here. Host welcomed us very friendly and guided us from port to house. So peaceful, calm and clean. It made me feel relaxed and forget about my recent worries in life. If I had more time to spend, I truly would stay longer. And as a fan of MUJI, staying with MUJI’s items was also fun experience. All foods they gave to me were so good. Their LP selections are super nice. I’ll visit Teshima island again to stay here. *You should check ferry scedule before you check-in and check-out. They have different ferry scedule day to day. 무인양품의 새로운 숙소라고 해서 계획 다 바꾸고 급하게 예약해 제대로 준비못하고 갔지만 정말 정말 좋았던 경험이였다. 심지어 비가 왔지만 주변이 더 조용해지고 빗소리만 들려 마음이 안정되고 운치있었다. 머무는 날들 중 하루는 뮤지엄 휴관일이 겹쳤는데 관광객이 없어 휴식하며 산책하기 더할나위 없는 조건이었다. 시간이 부족해 더 못있었던게 아쉬울 따름이다. 친절한 호스트, 풍부한 간식제공과 웰컴드링크, 깔끔한 시설 그리고 넓은 숙소. 다만 자연의 섬이라서 그런지 날씨가 풀리니 곤충들이 조금 있다. 문 잘 닫고 불 잘 꺼야한다. 예약하기 전에 페리시간표와 잘 맞춰보면서 계획을 잡아야 변수없이 머물 수 있다.

Teshima is an island located between the Okayama Kagawa River in the Seto Inland Sea. With an area of 14.5 km² and a population of about 700, spring water comes out of Danzan in the center of the island, which supports rice cultivation, agriculture, and people's lives on Teshima from ancient times to the present. Today, there are contemporary art facilities such as the Teshima Museum of Art, which are visited by many people from Japan and abroad.
You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Teshima, the terraced rice fields, the sea, lemon trees, olives, and other foods that have supported the people of the island with food amenities.
There are no traffic lights, convenience stores, or supermarkets, so please enjoy the beauty and inconvenience of the island.
