We had a fantastic time in Holmhead! Where do I start... a cottage that could have been made for us; cosy, warm and welcoming, tucked away in totally peaceful surroundings. I felt right at home from the moment I saw it. I wish we were still there! The nightsky was amazing, we could see the Milky Way. I had been slightly worried about the cottage not having central heating but I needn't have worried; even without the woodburner, the portable heaters and the thick walls kept us super cosy. Lighting the fire was an added bonus - and was so relaxing! The beds were wonderful, we slept very well indeed. Communication with Cat was excellent, she was responsive and ready to help. Thank you for getting our 2024 off to a good start!

Just magic, the perfect highland getaway for Christmas and a honeymoon. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Pros - Peaceful surrounding great garden for dogs. Great place to watch the wildlife. Cons - faulty electrics blue flash from heater plug, beadside lamp was fizzing when switched on in main bedroom, damp smell in twin room and grill pan dirty.

It’s a measure of an owner how they handle things when things do not go as expected. There were a number of issues, some of which only became apparent when we were cleaning prior to leaving. These included pillows that were torn and in urgent need of upgrading. Two torn cushions, the duvet cover missing poppers, dinner plates with brown damage marks on, sticky brown stains in the corner of the kitchen on the floor we were unable to identify and unable to clean off. A very large unsightly brown stain on the single mattress. Two round yellow stains on the double mattress. The light in the bedroom blew and we noticed an exposed loose wire that may require an electrician. Cat appeared quite defensive when we mentioned the pillows and the state of the bins during our stay. We emailed her photos of how clean we had left the cottage and photos of the issues. We did not request a refund, merely for Cat to acknowledge the issues, but as she did not respond we passed the matter to Airbnb.
