From being at the door to welcome us, to having the log burner ready lit and soft music playing on the cd player Silke could not have made us feel more welcome. The Bothy was like a home from home. A perfect place to rest and relax.

We unexpectedly found a gem of a B&B in Tongue. Silke gave us such a warm welcome. She is genuinely warm, friendly and hospitable and does everything she can to make you feel right at home. The Bothy was such a cozy, comfortable place that we felt relaxed and at home. We wished we had more than a one night stay there.

We had the most magical time at The Bothy. Weather was not the most hospitable during our days there, but Silke’s place is so cozy and private and perfectly catered to our tastes that we barely noticed. We took advantage of the quiet common area with its woodburner and music options and incredible selection of local books and literature. The traditional breakfasts were delicious, and we had a couple of delicious dinners at the Tongue Hotel (reservations recommended). The area is absolutely lovely - mountain and sea views in every direction - and we had a great time exploring the Strathnaver Museum in Bettyhill on Silke’s recommendation. A+ stay all the way around!
