Just one property from Paihia's waterfront in the heart of the Bay of Islands, relax at this spacious, fully self-contained apartment with private balcony at The Swiss Chalet. It's a short flat walk along the harbour to the Russell ferry, Hole in the rock cruises, shops, beach, cafes & supermarket. The beautifully furnished bedroom area comprises a quality and comfortable queen-size bed with oversized down replica duvet, pressed cotton sheets a plush velvet headboard & marble top bedsides. All apartments contain a kitchenette with full size fridge, freezer & pantry, ceramic cook-top, microwave, coffee plunger, kettle, toaster, all cookware, utensils and dinner setting for two people plus an underbench front loader washing machine! A complimentary selection of welcome condiments are provided at arrival. The open plan living area features a comfortable lounge suite with velvet feather cushions and a dining table with padded scandi chairs. Entertainment includes a brand new 43" 4K Ultra HD Smart TV with Freeview & internet. Free wireless internet is available throughout the property. To keep you cool in summer and cosy in winter, the apartment has a brand new air conditioner & heat pump installed. Fluffy white bath towels are provided along with extras to last your stay. The shower is a step in style with shub bathtub below. There’s a cafe style table and chairs on your own sun drenched balcony where you can soak up some Vitamin D with your coffee or sip your cocktails at sunset. The wardrobe provides your own vacuum cleaner plus iron, ironing board and indoor clothesline. Each apartment has an allocated free carpark in the well lit garage which accesses a covered, well lit slate staircase with handrail and covered, well lit covered terrace to your apartment to stay out of the rain. This chalet was incredibly well equipped with everything you could possible need. Very clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance to the village and Waitangi Treaty Grounds which was unexpected. The chalet was only metres from the beautiful water view. We felt at home straight away and would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to experience the stunning Paihia area. The hosts were great to deal with and we were very well informed at all times.
We had a lovely stay, the chalet was right by the wharf so it’s a stones throw away from the restaurants and the ferry to Russell. Smooth checkin and the place is immaculate. We had a slight issue with something and the owners were super quick to resolve this and ensure we were comfortable and happy. Very great hosts and lovely getaway in the Bay of Islands. Highly recommend!
A well located and clean unit. Perfect for accessing Russell and the Bay of Islands, as well as a good election of cafes and restuarants.
Well presented room with good amenities. Parking tight for a larger vehicle. Some minor leaks needed repair.

Known as the jewel of the Bay of Islands, Paihia's a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Home to numerous festivals, markets & special events, Paihia and The Bay of Islands is paradise for those who love water activities, culture and beaches.
The Swiss Chalet is located at the seaside in the best part of town. It's just a short 15 - 20 minute ferry ride across the water to visit historical Russell with its many cafes, restaurants, shops and vineyards.
The Waitangi Treaty grounds also welcome you to come and learn about NZ's history and the Treaty of Waitangi.
Located just 30 metres from Paihia Beach and a short stroll along the waterfront or Selwyn Rd to the shops, supermarkets, wharf and tourist booking offices, you can catch the ferry to explore historic Russell, book a cruise to see The Hole in the Rock and other islands or a tour bus to Cape Reinga.
It's a four minute drive to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds or you can walk along the beach.
Finding a carpark in town can be difficult in peak season so you'll love being able to leave the car safely in the garage and walk to everything!
For those arriving by bus from Auckland, The Swiss Chalet is just a few minutes walk along the waterfront from the bus depot at the wharf.
