We are approximately 3.5 miles off the paved highway in the Swan River State Forest. The Swan River is accessible from the road near the highway and a great place for fishing, cooling off and watching for Bald Eagles and other wildlife. From the highway, it's about 30 miles north to the town of Bigfork, and the town of Condon begins about 12 miles to the south, with the delicious Hungry Bear restaurant 20 miles south. The Mission Mountains Mercantile is a small grocery store in Condon for any supplies you might need. The west entrance to Glacier National Park is about a 1.5 hour drive to the north, making it an easy day trip from the cabin.
This is a secluded retreat and wildlife is abundant, including elk, deer, various birds and small mammals which are all fun to see. While not terribly common to see, there are also Grizzly and Black bears, wolves and mountain lions in the area, so reasonable precautions are important.

We are quite a ways off the beaten path, so confirmed guests will receive detailed directions and travel considerations by email prior to the date of arrival. The last 3.5 miles of the road is dirt, but for the summer months, 4-wheel drive is not needed.
