Booked 10 days, stayed 3. Impending 10"-18" snowstorm forecasted with a direct hit to this area. Host said there were tirechains, but none were found. Host was unresponsive to plight! No phone service despite turning phone on/off etc. Host was always slow to respond. I felt unsafe with the Impending storm, cleaned the house and left. Asked host for a refund and he blatantly wont refund saying that this house is his "income stream". He has zero compassion and still refuses to settle this matter. The cabin is pretty inside, but theres sprayfoam showing and gaps along the left living room window and at the top of the wall by the fireplace. The shower in the main bedroom has a water heater in it and is not a working shower. No wood was cut, so i had to do that on my own, even filled his indoor wood box, for host, and he still doesn't want to work this out. DO NOT STAY HERE. Its very, very remote, down a very rough one lane dirt road. You are very far from food, gas stations, etc.
Jason's cabin was an amazing weekend getaway for our family! The cabin was cozy, charming and quaint. It had everything you needed for a lovely trip, and was surprisingly spacious. It had a ton of charm with interesting antiques, knickknacks and books around. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you would need to prepare a meal. The beds were warm and comfortable. They even had games, TV streaming, and dvds for time spent indoors. We also spent a ton of time outdoors on the amazing property, swinging, roasting marshmallows, and playing by the creek. We would come back here in a heartbeat!
This is what I expect for an out-of-the-way Montana cabin. I'm sure it isn't the kind of place everyone would enjoy but for me and my family it was perfect. Hope to be able to stay there again.
Jason was a great host! Very responsive and proactive - he made sure to include any information you'd need to know! Our team really enjoyed our stay at his cabin. Highly recommend if you want a place to relax and "get away" for a weekend.
The cabin and surroundings were magical. The yard and pond were so peaceful and beautiful. The cabin is exactly as described, an older cabin with a lot of charm. Jason was a fantastic host. We had a hiccup on our trip and he was so responsive and helpful. We would go back tomorrow if we could.
This place isn't for people that want to go into town every night, this is for those looking for isolation, for easy access to everything outdoors that Montana has to offer! Hiking, rivers, lakes, fishing, canoeing, cross country skiing, and hunting are right outside your front door or a short drive from the cabin. We are just minutes away from Swan Lake, one of Montana's prettiest lakes, and a short walk to the Swan River. The cabin is located in the Swan Valley between Swan Mountains and Mission Mountains...endless trails in all directions. In just under an hour you can arrive at the West Gate of Glacier National Park.
You will need a car or other type of motorized vehicle. There are no Uber or Lyfts in the area.
