Loved my stay at Ngau House. The place look exactly like the pictures, with a lot of personality and graceful touches. We particularly enjoyed the vintage game console, which was so fun and nostalgic. The host was really helpful and responsive at anytime of the day. I look forward to coming back here when I’m in town!

They did a great job remodeling this home and kept a lot of the charm. The place is aesthetically beautiful as shown in the pictures and is good if you want to stay with the locals. However, there isn’t much around if you’re a tourist. In addition to the smell mentioned in other reviews, we felt the place lacked kitchen basic (coffee mugs/bowls big enough for soup, cookware, etc). We had to borrow some dish-ware from the neighbors. The check-in process was also difficult as the address posted is partially in English which doesn’t translate well to the navigation apps. Although the host had a lengthy instruction manual, it was all in Vietnamese, and we did not get it until we were already lost.

I think this place would be great during the hot and dry summer. Our stay during the wet and cool month of December, however, was not a success. The house was very humid and rather cold — so humid that the floors stayed wet throughout our stay. A dehumidifier would have been very welcome. There also was a strong smell of ammonia in the house. All in all I would be interested in revisiting during the dry season, as the place itself is nicely designed and furnished, and the hosts were helpful and accommodating.

Le logement est très beau. Bien qu’un peu éloigné du centre de Hue il y a à proximité tout le nécessaire (café, restaurant, supérette). Le propriétaire a été très réactif afin de nous aider lorsque nous en avons eu besoin.
