Teazels is a comfortably furnished self-contained apartment for two just a three-minute stroll from stunning cliff top scenery and the Wales Coastal Path. The wonderfully scenic Three Cliffs Bay is a gentle twenty to thirty minute walk away with local coves even closer. Pennard Golf Club is a two-minute drive away and the whole of Gower can be readily accessed. The entire property is on the ground floor with step-free access, making it potentially suitable for guests with some reduced mobility. Our self-contained apartment sleeps two and provides a calm space for relaxing, as well as a conveniently situated base for a more active Gower stay. There is a pretty, paved patio and lawned gardens with mature shrubs at the front and side of the property which we hope guests will enjoy. Teazels is a pet-free, smoke-free property, suitable for adults and over-16s. The apartment is accessed through the gated driveway shared with the adjoining main house and sits at the side of the main property. It has its own front door access into a light and airy hallway with space for coats and boots, and storage containing beach towels, beach chairs and shopping bags, etc for guests’ use. There is easy street parking right outside the gate, or room to park on the drive. The hallway leads through to the living room with a two- seater sofa, chair, and window seat. A selection of local interest books, DVDs, games, and puzzles are provided as well as a TV with Freeview channels, and a DVD player. There is wi-if throughout the property (although this is sometimes less reliable in the garden) but please note that mobile phone signal can be patchy, depending on provider. Attached to the living room is the sunny garden room with full windows along two sides to make the most of its south-facing aspect overlooking the garden to the front of the property, with French doors leading outside. The dining table here has an outlook to the garden and can also be utilized as a work space in peaceful surroundings. The galley kitchen has fitted cupboards, full-size fridge and freezer, ceramic hob, electric oven and grill, microwave, toaster and kettle, and the cupboards are stocked with kitchen items for self-catering guests. The back door leads out onto the patio (a sun-trap in the summer months) which is screened from the main house garden to provide some privacy for guests. In the warmer months there is plenty of choice for seating to catch the sun or shade as desired, with a bistro table and chairs, bench seating and a side-by-side chair set which is ideally placed for a sunny morning coffee break. From the living room an inner hallway leads to the light, modern bathroom with level-entry screened shower, vanity basin and WC. Outside the bathroom, a cupboard houses the washing machine and tumble drier. The bedroom also leads from the inner hallway and has a super-king bed or can alternatively be set up with two singles if preferred (please request at time of booking). There is a small dressing-table with stool, and a blanket box with a suitably sized top to rest a suitcase or travel bag. The built-in cupboard has shelving and hanging space, and also stores an iron and ironing board, and a small hairdryer. Local village amenities include a well-stocked shop and post office, popular coffee shop and cafe, pub, chemist, library, National Trust car park, and seasonal offerings such as take-out pizzas. Within a three mile radius there are more general stores, pubs serving food, Pennard Church, surf shop, bakery, and the Gower Heritage Centre visitor attraction with craft outlets, cider making, and an artisan bakery. The whole property is on the ground floor with step-free access throughout, including the walk-in screened shower. We are a pet-free, smoke-free and vaping-free property, and all bedding and furnishings are feather and down-free. We hope this will provide a comfortable environment for our guests.
We had a lovely time at Hilary’s, peaceful and very well located. Would recommend for anyone wanting to explore the Gower peninsula. The place was clean, the garden lovely and the bed large and comfortable.
We loved our stay. The rental was perfect-such a comfy bed, really well equipped and lots of space for two. Lots of really nice touches-Welsh cakes and basic foods on arrival, lovely coffee, umbrella , light rucksack-she’s thought of everything. Great location small shop, good cafe and the coastal path all within a short walk. Nearest beaches are beautiful and just a short drive to Oxwich and Caswell. I suspect we’ll be back
Had a wonderful stay at Hilary's place - felt like home from home. She was very friendly, responsive and helpful from the get go. We had everything we needed and there were some lovely thoughtful touches such as the welcome basket on arrival. Great location with some lovely walks nearby and close to Three Cliffs Bay for a dip. Close to the Mumbles too for some nice restaurants & shops etc.
I had a wonderful stay at Teazels. Really comfortable and cosy accommodation, and lovely and peaceful ... apart from the birds singing in the morning! Hilary responded very quickly to any queries and nothing was too much trouble. Very accommodating on both check in and check out. A delicious welcome pack was a wonderful surprise incorporating local produce too. It's an ideal location for exploring Gower, and just a few minutes away from the coast path and stunning scenery. I was lucky to have great weather but would also have enjoyed spending more time in the accommodation as it was homely, relaxed and restful. Definitely one of the nicest AirBnbs I've stayed in and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful stay Hilary and Jeremy.
it's impossible to fault anything at all about Hilarys place. Probably the most perfect Airbnb we've ever stayed in! Spotlessly clean throughout, incredibly comfortable, and 5 minutes walk from the cliffs. And incredibly friendly and helpful to boot. Would 100% stay again without any hesitation.
The property is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac set back a few hundred yards from the main National Trust cliffs.
The village itself is generally quiet, but the National Trust cliffs are a very popular area for walkers and the NT car park and adjacent coffee shop make it a lively area all year round.
There is a bus service into Swansea approximately every 90 minutes through the day, and currently also a service on Tuesdays and Thursdays to Mumbles (this is currently under review, so please check for up-to-date information).
Swansea train station provides direct fast inter-city access to Cardiff in around an hour and to London in under three hours. Swansea Quadrant bus station has regular National Express and Megabus connections to major UK cities, including London, and Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
Guests arriving by coach, bus or train are welcome to contact us to check if we can provide a pick up service, or help to arrange a taxi.
