She went out of her way to not only drive my mum who was here from Australia in the middle of the night to get food but also took such good care of us as if we were family. The place and location is beautiful she was so responsive and helpful with finding her location! The host is so lovely and accomodating if you are looking for a beautiful once in a lifetime experience I highly reccomend going here! Not only is the place so clean and beautiful the outside shower is amazing she made us the most amazing tea and spoke with us for so long! I honestly couldn’t believe the place wasn’t more expensive considering how beautifully made it is and the location is so gorgeous on the volcano rocks! All my ig friends were amazed from Australia when I uploaded the views truly the highlight of our trip! Honestly the best airbnb I stayed in all over Hilo not only for the location and views but a truly unique experience with a host that will go out of your way to genuinely help you in any way

We wanted to experience shipping container living and loved the serenity of the location. We enjoyed the feeling and creativity that came from the minimalist decor. It allowed nature to shine through. Warm and friendly greeting made the experience that much more enjoyable. Peaceful!

The room was clean and the surroundings were incredible. Beautiful ocean views, lots of natural light and the outdoor shower was very nice. Would definitely stay again.

Cool place right on top of the lava flows. Very clean and exactly like the pictures. Bed was comfortable and had everything I needed. Be warned though, If you’re like me and booked this place to explore and look at the old lava flows and take a morning stroll towards the ocean be warned. The neighbours are NOT friendly. I tried to stay well over 200ft from any other building to be respectful and was yelled at and chased by an angry buffoon of a man who told me I was trespassing and that I should get back on my plane and leave “his” country. Property lines aren’t marked at all and the description did not say anything about staying on the property. I’m a big guy so I did not fear for my safety but I could see this guy getting violent with someone else. I’m glad I changed my booking from 3 nights to 1 night last minute. I also think a $50 cleaning fee is ridiculous for this place. How much time does it really take to clean half a shipping container and a bed? Money grab if you ask me.
