Escape! Cozy modern cottage on over 250 acres to enjoy, property has 3/4 mile of river frontage on the Hazel River. Miles of well maintained walking trails 15 Mins. to Historic Downtown Culpeper, a main street community with many unique shops. Known for exceptional local cuisine, breweries and many local wineries. 25 Mins. to the 3 Michelin Star Inn at Little Washington 30 Mins. to Sperryville, foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns. just below the entrance to Skyline Drive/Shenandoah National Park. Two bedrooms with queen beds and two full bathrooms, washer and dryer, well appointed kitchen. Gas grill available, plenty of outdoor seating, play set with sand box for children <6yrs old. Hammock for relaxing, fire pit with wood available. Lots of room to roam! Large covered pavilion with ceiling fans and lighting. NOTE: you cannot see the river or mountains from the cottage. Approximately 3/4 mile walk to the river and 1/2 mile walk to the ridge where you can enjoy the mountain views and sunsets.

Vicki’s place was probably the most peaceful place I’ve ever stayed at! It was extremely private and quiet. It looks just like the photos and it was even better than I expected. Would definitely stay again!
The place and grounds were beautiful. We took advantage of the map of the grounds and walked down to the river. Very peaceful surroundings with deer, owls, turkey, and a variety of birds. Highly recommend and would certainly stay again.
I whisked my husband away for a Birthday weekend retreat, and Vicki’s cottage delivered on all my expectations and on many more I didn’t think to have - a lovely appointed cottage, a fully stocked basket of maps of the area, goodies for around the campfire, fully stocked kitchen, fun games, and more. We took advantage of the lovely grounds as well - birthday cake at “The Cliff” and morning coffee hike to the river. Wonderful lifetime memories! Our hosts were exceptionally attentive and communicative, and made our retreat perfect. Thank you Vicki!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this gorgeous cottage! The place looked brand new and was immaculately clean. The location was perfect for us, offering beautiful hikes right at our doorstep. One of the highlights for us was the playground! Our toddler absolutely loved it and had a fantastic time playing there. The hosts provided clear instructions and helpful recommendations, ensuring that our stay was hassle-free and enjoyable. Overall, we highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. We would love to return in the future!

Rural Area - We are located in a rural area off a gravel road. It is extremely dark at night, but this allows for amazing star gazing! There are only a handful of people that live on the road which is not a through street so it is a safe place for walks.
Property Boundary - Over 250 acres of wooded property and trails to roam. Please respect adjacent property owners and stay within our 250 acre property boundary.
Hunting - People hunt and shoot in this area (but not on our property). You may hear the occasional gun go off.
Wildlife & Bugs - This is the country so wildlife and bugs are in abundance.
There are many deer, fox, wild rabbits, wild turkeys and opossum that occasionally show themselves. These are gentle creatures. Wonderful place for birding! We ask that you be respectful of the wildlife. There might be the occasional black bear. Black bears do not want to see you or interact with you any more than you want to see or interact with them. Black bear sitings are rare.
Plenty of parking, you do not need 4X4. Enjoy walking/hiking the well maintained trails-lots to see and enjoy! Bring your trail bikes! We do not allow motorized bikes/side-by-sides as we don't want to frighten the animals.
