In the evenings, cook slap-up meals for you and fellow guests or head out for dinner in nearby Seaford (1.5 miles). The outside of the cottage is made of flint, which creates an appealing speckled finish. Inside, traditional-style furniture combines with contemporary features for a comfortable, sophisticated look. The open-plan kitchen/diner is spacious, with roof windows letting plenty of light in. In the kitchen, which has a country-cottage feel with a modern finish, you'll find a traditional butler sink, fitted units and a large wooden island in the middle. The cosy lounge is ideal for relaxing on the sofa with a magazine and a cuppa while the wood burner keeps the place nice and warm. Seaford is a sleepy seaside town whose centre is 1.5 miles away. Within 0.5 miles you'll find a country pub with scenic views over the Cuckmere River. For a day trip, head to the vibrant coastal towns of Eastbourne (8 miles) or Brighton (14 miles). Lewes, located 12 miles inland, is another great option – here you can enjoy a day of history with a visit to a Norman castle and the medieval Anne of Cleves house. This part of the country is well serviced by train so you may choose to leave your vehicle at home.
