Get the perfect blend of countryside and coast with a stay at this stylish cottage in East Sussex. It's situated in the seaside village of Saltdean but also lies on the fringes of the South Downs National Park, with fantastic walking and cycle trails on your doorstep, making it well suited to those with a love of the great outdoors. In summer, take a dip in the famous art deco Saltdean Lido before returning to the cottage to cook up a sizzling al fresco feast on the BBQ. The property is immaculately presented and perfectly co-ordinated in calming colours throughout, with lots of thoughtful finishing touches too. After a bracing beach walk, get snug in front of the roaring wood burner in the elegant lounge and catch up with your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Make a barista-style coffee in the Nespresso machine and enjoy it with a good book in the snug room or take it outside to the delightful enclosed garden, which has a mix of seating areas. Family meals can be enjoyed round the dining table as you discuss your plans for the next day's adventures. When tiredness finally hits, fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow in the beautifully decorated bedrooms upstairs. When you're not exploring the chalk cliffs and rolling hills of the South Downs, sample the waterfront restaurants and leisure facilities of Brighton Marina, 4.5 miles away. Then head into the centre of Brighton for boutique shopping and a walk along the famous pier. You can also get up close to starfish, sharks and jellyfish at the Sea Life Centre and glide up the i360 viewing tower for spectacular views along the Sussex coastline.
