Unwind and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding this historic getaway. A 300-year-old Georgian hayloft that has been lovingly converted into a cosy, modern space. Set in the heart of a regenerative family run farm. Enjoy fresh farm eggs for breakfast or a delicious coffee from our rustic farm shop "The Piggery" open on weekends throughout Summer. Located near the sleepy village of Kilmessan, 1.5km from Station House Hotel, 6km’s from the ancient Hill of Tara, a 45-minute drive from Dublin. Walk up the unique industrial staircase into a light, cosy loft apartment. Upstairs consists of a bedroom with two comfy single beds and large sliding cupboards. Further down the hall a bathroom with both a bath and a shower. The main living area is open plan with a central wood burning stove, kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Above the sitting area is a mezzanine accessed by a metal spiral staircase with a large double bed. Fall asleep to the cosy crackle from the central fireplace. Located in the heart of Swainstown a regenerative farm growing chemical free vegetables, flowers, lamb and free range eggs. The Hayloft is conveniently located opposite our rustic farm shop "The Piggery" which is open on the weekends from April to Halloween. You can purchase our fresh produce here and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee whilst sitting outside watching the chickens roam around. The farm shop courtyard has picnic benches outside and airbnb guests are welcome to use them as an outside dining option during the week. Pull on those wellies and get out into nature. We have provided a map of the walks on the farm. We do not maintain the pathways as part of the regenerative process is allowing the wild spaces to be wild to promote biodiversity. The farm has a wealth of flora & fauna and you might catch a glimpse of deer, badgers, pine martens, foxes and incredible bird and insect life.

I'm already planning a return visit if that's anything to go by! The Hayloft is a gorgeous place to stay, the surroundings and farm are a lovely setting. The first thing we did when we arrived was take photos, it's stunning. Very comfortable and cosy also. Larissa is a great host, quick responses and very clear communication throughout. 100% worth the visit.

Unreal Stay, perfect escape. I would highly recommend Larissa as host. She is charming, kind and polite and you can sense she truly wants you to enjoy what was once was her home. The stove is awesome and kitchen well equipped. We visited the Hot Box Saunas close by complimented with a cold dip in the Boyne. Fantastic for a reset. Beautiful walks on the farm and a short distance to the mystical Hill of Tara! Shops are a short drive / a walk to Kilmessan Village for essentials and the people on the farm were very friendly. There were some free range eggs on arrival that were delicious with some thoughtful milk and butter too. We’ll be back.
We had such a fabulous stay at Larissa’s Airbnb . It was exactly as described and very well equipped. The air bnb itself was spotless and beautifully decorated with some lovely touches. The stove made it so cosy and homely, it was so lovely in the evenings to sit in front of the fire with a glass of wine and play a board game. Larissa’s air bnb is the perfect place to unwind. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The grounds are lovely and picturesque. There is a map of the farm and surrounding areas which has some lovely walks. Fergie’s which is less than a 5 minute drive away is a lovely pub to go to for food and drinks. We went to Trim which is only 10 minutes away which also has great food and drink options. The air bnb has plenty of sites to visit nearby. Larissa was an excellent and friendly host. She was extremely accommodating and very helpful. I would highly recommend staying at the Hayloft and I already look forward to returning.

What to do and where to eat in and around Kilmessan?
Kilmessan has a Centra for your basic shopping needs, both Trim and Dunshauglin 15 mins away have an Aldi & Lidl for bigger food shops.
Fergies Pub in the village is a welcoming local spot to meet for a pint or get a bite to eat. Feeling like a night in by the fire? Grab a takeaway pizza from Monto's, or get dressed up and enjoy a delicious meal or cocktails on the terrace of the Station House Hotel.
For a bit of ancient Irish culture we are 5km from the Hill of Tara, a lovely walk and incredible views from the top and a little cafe serving coffee and food.
And a 35 minute drive from the World Heritage site New Grange.
Dip your toes or immerse yourself in the majestic Boyne river where you can enjoy an outdoor sauna at Bective Mill or Pilates & Yoga classes in the dome. - Book online-The Hot Box Sauna.
We are 10 minutes away from the historic town of Trim (The castle where Brave Heart was filmed).
Walk around Trim Castle and river walk or if you are feeling adventurous kayak rentals or guided kayaking tours can be booked through the Boyne Valley Activities website.
Cafes in Trim - The Olive Tree, Platterbylu, Rosemary Bistro
Pub's - Brogans, Marcie's, McCormack's Pub, The Old Stand Trim, Jack Quinn's pub ( Most of these pubs will have Traditional Irish music nights throughout the week and weekend and some offer food).

We have free parking here on the farm and would strongly suggest renting a car for ease of getting around as we are quite rural.
The 109B Bus goes from Dublin to Kilmessan and takes around an hour sometimes more. And we are a 1.5km walk from Kilmessan village.
