Cottage 12 is a cozy cottage with one king bed, a full bath with shower, A/C, mini-fridge, cable, television, hairdryer, coffee pot, microwave, cook top, pots and pans. Also, a sleeper sofa, and free Wi-Fi. As with all guests who join our Ohana, there is full access to the indoor kitchen downstairs in the main building, the outdoor kitchen and grill, full access to the common use hot tub, and the bonfire pit on the back lawn. Cottages at The Open Hearth Inn are a rustic but private little base camp for all of your Acadia Adventures. These cabins (9 in total) have been on the property since sometime in the 50s and although they are 'vintage' in nature, they are a comfortable trip back in time ;). Just a mile away from the first picnic area in the park and the welcome center, this property is the ultimate budget option for a place to stay while you play. The basis of the Open Hearth Inn is the main house, built in the 1820's it's best known for its historic charm. One of 20 rooms and everyone has plenty of space to stretch outside, gather in the old hearth room and play some board games, stretch out on the couch and watch movies on the common use 70" tv, make some new friends, and explore the real reason we call it 'Ohana'.

Great spot near to Bar Harbor. We came to go to Acadia. Quick drive in and out. Amenities were great especially the hot tub with access 24/7. Very safe and quiet even though the cabins are close to one another. Would return!
we had such a great stay, the little cabin was super cozy, had a great heater, very well equipped, a huge bed, everything we could ask for ! the Shared kitchen was super nice too, had all the equipment we needed. It was all perfect, and really close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, just a small drive away. They were really reactive witch the check in process and it was all clear and simple. 10000% would recommend for a cosy stay for a few days exploring Acadia ! :) Thanks for everything !!
We loved our stay here. We were visiting Acadia off season and this is located right outside of Acadia. Perfect location. Close to Ellsworth as well where there are restaurants and breweries. You get privacy in your own little cabin, but there’s also a common space with lots more amenities. Definitely will be back!
This cottage was incredible! We wished we could stay longer!! I had a hard time with the lock (my fault) and called Arthur and he was so friendly, patient, and kind. 100% would recommend this airbnb to anyone in the area. Added plus is it was close to Acadia!

Trenton is the town just off of Mount Desert Island (MDI to the locals) which is home to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We are just a mile from the first park picnic area and shortly after the fabled trails of Acadia including Beehive, Precipice, Cadillac Mtn, Beech Mtn, Little Long Pond, and all the popular tours like boating, puffins, lobstering, and lighthouses! It's an adventurer's paradise and that is exactly why we bought the Open Hearth Inn ;).
Free parking right outside your door (all cottages have parking TO THE LEFT of the cottage)! Bakery and Lunts Lobster shop within about a 1 min walk just across the road. Trenton is the gateway to Acadia and the park starts just half a mile down the road!
Acadia National Park is just a quick 10 mins down the road and the center of Bar Harbor a mere 20 mins. Experience the beauty of Mount Desert Island without the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor while still being fairly close to anything you could possibly need for the best Maine adventure. NO matter the time of year; spring, summer, autumn, or winter The Open Hearth will always be waiting for you.
