I really enjoyed my time in the Hidden Cottage with my 2 dogs. It was so peaceful I could hear the birds singing all day long, watch deer and rabbits in the field and listen to a woodpecker in the trees around the cottage, even a squirrel making the dogs jump as it ran over the roof added to the wonder of country living, a hide away from all hustle & bustle of this mad mad world. Like all dogs my two loved such a big open space, especially the field, one tiny issue for me was my younger dog still in training, could not be let off lead anywhere safe within the grounds due to the open plan garden. The long training lead I take everywhere came in useful, tied to a post worked well, keeping Tim, flower beds & veg plots safe. I was so glad I chose the Hidden Cottage, even bad weather didn’t spoil my time there, having a log burner it was oh so cozy. The bed was like sleeping in marshmallow, best ever mattress I’ve slept on. I will definitely return, maybe Orchard Cottage next time.

Hidden Cottage is a gorgeous little bolt hole literally hidden at the bottom of the garden. Sally Ann and James had lit fire for our arrival and had left us some home baked cake and cookies! The beds were super comfortable, and kitchen is well equipped, and the cottage interiors are eclectic, cosy and very homely! We didn’t stay long so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful garden and views from the cottage sadly. I highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for somewhere in the area

We enjoyed our stay over New Year. The log burner was a god send. And Sally Anne was very good at arranging more wood when we needed it. Possibly we would have had an even better stay in warmer weather.

We had a great break away hunkering down in front of the log burner on a wet weekend! Great communication with Sally-Ann who recommended a great roast in the village and left us a delicious cake! Thanks so much! The area is very well connected to lots of great places to visit. The only thing we would change is the double bed which was a bit soft for us. For those bringing small children, we came with our 20 month old who loved exploring the house and outside area. We brought our own cot but there was a wooden high chair to use. However, if you have a very small child, or one who likes to climb out like ours, I would recommend bringing one with straps :)
