Moving around the area is easy regardless of the direction you choose. ‘The Lodge’ offers easy access on to the expressway (TEL) or the slower but scenic drive along Papamoa Beach Road……. ‘Baybus’ stop is a 4 minute walk opposite Serrata Close on Te Okuroa Drive. This is a perfect way to get into the busier areas. Especially during Peak season when parking is at a premium
A 3 minute (1.4 km) drive will find you at Excelsa Centre. These shops offer Four Square for groceries/lotto, Bottlezone, Unichem Pharmacy, Lux Cinema, Hollywood Nails Beauty with dining options at Papa Mo’s, Grill and Green Mediterranean, Great Spice Indian, Hello Sushi, Henry & Ted cafe and Rise Artisan Bakery. A free EV Charging Station is also situated at Excelsa Centre or take advantage of the exterior 10 amp plug at ‘The Lodge’ for a fee.
2 minutes (1.5km) drive in the other direction you will reach a local favourite, Pap House Bar and Restaurant. Takeaways are in abundance at these shops with your choice of Fish and Chips, Chinese, Turkish and Indian. There is also a Superette, Bottlezone, a cafe and a hairdresser.
6 minutes or so (6.5 km) further on is Papamoa Plaza and Fashion Island. The hub of Papamoa. This area offers everything. Ranging from two Supermarkets, The Warehouse and Oceanblue Fitness to My Pharmacy, Food Court, Post Shop, Physio, Hairdresser, Beauty, Fashion and gifts.
At Fashion Island make the most of the numerous discount Outlet stores like Bendon, Bonds, Converse, Sheridan plus many more well known brands. This area is also where you will find a Doctor, Pharmacy, Mitre 10, Repco, TAB and more Restaurants like Lantern and The Island (formerly the renowned Papamoa Tavern). Numerous takeaway shops offer almost every cuisine.
Approximately 15 minutes drive (12.2 km) will take you to Bayfair Shopping Centre. All the major retail stores are here. Baypark Stadium is located in this area also
Te Puke township is 12.8km. About a 15 minute drive via Parton and Bell roads.
World famous Mount Maunganui takes around 20 minutes to drive to using the Expressway (TEL). ‘The Mount’ offers great dining options and fabulous ‘boutique’ shopping. Don’t miss the scenic walk around the Mount or up if you have the energy. Perhaps just sit under the ‘Twin Towers’ with a coffee or enjoy Fish and Chips at Pilot Bay and watch the world go by……

Rotorua Airport is 60km in distance. Approx a 45 minute drive via Expressway (TEL) and Toll road. There is a free route available through Te Puke which does add travel time to the journey
Tauranga CBD is 20.1km in distance via Expressway (TEL) and Hewletts Road. Allow 30 minutes or so to drive there
Rotorua itself Is an easy 1 hour drive from ‘The Lodge’. Why not take advantage of all the internationally renowned experiences this wonderland has on offer scattered throughout its area….
Beautiful Lake Taupo is a 2 hour drive further South (151km) of Rotorua. More world famous scenic attractions are to be experienced here…
