Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable cozy getaway. Discover yourself in an undiscovered part of the world. Nature, Nurture, Nest. A small place to rest and view and choose what you do. A private place to be and enjoy the beautiful nature of Monterey Bay, the nearby beaches, and Elkhorn Slough. A place to create, cook, experience, touch, feel, evolve, relax. Restore, Explore, Eat. Our two-story restored tank house in a private garden is uncluttered and essential. The top floor has expansive views over the nearby flower farms and hills in the distance. The top-floor sitting room/sleeping room is very quiet and tranquil with a queen size Murphy bed that folds down to sleep. There is a small closet, a table, and a chair. Steps lead down to the separate bathroom with a view of the garden. The kitchen is small and mighty and opens onto the patio. It is a great space to create marvelous meals. Often there are fruits on the trees, and herbs in the garden for your use. In the distance, farm animals call for their dinner, birds regularly visit, fly by, and the stars shine brightly. The sun sets behind the stand of trees in the Elkhorn Slough watershed. There is a walk through the organic farms and the Elkhorn Slough watershed, just to the right of our driveway. We are on a septic system and a well. The water is not good to drink - and with the septic system you need to use septic-acceptable products - ie, shampoos etc. ...I walked through the gate and entered a beautiful garden, a fig tree to my left and a giant tomato bed to my right. I followed the garden path and smelled herbs and flowers and heard the chirps of finches and the zooms of hummingbirds. The space welcomed me with a spacious patio, outdoor art studio, private bathroom, and GIANT kitchen (my favorite!). The cozy bedroom was upstairs offering a view of the oak-laden hills. Using the strong wifi connection and plugging into the outlet on the outside wall of the kitchen, I worked on the patio under the shade of the vines on the overhanging trellis. It was so comfortable that I think it was the most productive remote work session I've had since the coronavirus pandemic ;) And it was a much-needed break. - Vanessa
Cozy and rustic spot off the beaten path. simple amenities and charming layout. close to highway 1 and coastal attractions.
Judy's place was a beautiful place to wake up to and a respite at the end of my day during my stay in California. At check in, she met me to show me around the place. The garden was the highlight of the space, and I enjoyed it every morning for a relaxed coffee time and every evening as the sun set. The kitchen is fully equipped, so cooking in is a delight, especially if taking the meal outside on the patio to enjoy the gardens. as you dine. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. Though the bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom spaces are separate, those without limited mobility should find it very easily accessible. The outdoor sitting space serves as your sitting/den area. Judy was very responsive to an issue that came up during my stay and resolved it quickly. She was very friendly and communicated throughout my stay. The area is a bit remote, so guests should plan to commute to attractions. This stay was private, soothing, perfect for my needs
The neighborhood is very rural. There is a nearby organic farm stand on Fridays, a cheese and produce stand on Saturdays and lots of interesting nature to discover.
You have one dedicated parking spot.
