The Cottage is a Grade II listed characterful cottage located in the sunken lanes of Chearsley, a small village in Bucks with great connections (Oxford - 20 mins, London Marylebone - 40 mins from Thame and Haddenham Parkway Station, and just a 3.5 mile drive to the market town of Thame, Oxon). The Cottage offers simplicity with great comfort and has an enchanting cottage garden. Chearsley is a very welcoming village, with a traditional country pub and a network of wonderful walks to explore. Lovingly refurbished, The Cottage has two good sized bedrooms (a super king bed, and a zip and link king size bed offering the option of a twin) with a shared toilet. Downstairs, there are two reception rooms, a study with sitting/standing desk, a well equipped kitchen, a shower room and toilet. Once the site of an old orchard, The Cottage sits in its own beautiful and secluded garden with blossoms and fruits from old apple and pear trees. Located opposite the village farm, you may hear an occasion hoot from the barn owl! On a Sunday morning, the bells of St Nicholas Church will be ringing.

We had an amazing time at the cottage which is fantastic, super cosy and rustic but also with all the mod cons of a modern home. The garden is beautiful and we spent some quality time there with our young daughter. Venitia and Nic were great hosts, very friendly and responsive - and full of tips for what to do locally (a top tip - Rose's farm and shop is a stone's throw away, selling great pasture fed meat). Strongly recommend a stay!

Home from home
We had a fabulous and relaxed girls’ weekend at Venetia’s beautiful cottage. The kitchen and garden are both outstanding. The cottage is both cosy and has very comfortable, spacious bedrooms. It is beautifully appointed and we immediately felt at home. Venetia was so helpful and kind and the wider village made us so welcome too when we enjoyed meals at the local pub on both nights. A perfect escape away - we would love to come back and would highly recommend! Thank you!
This is a wonderful Airbnb. A lot of thought has gone into the presentation, comfort and function of the house for a holiday stay. It’s a lovely building with lots of character without compromising on modern needs. Everything worked. The garden is a joy.

Chearsley is a small village in Buckinghamshire with a medieval church (St Nicholas) and a great country village pub (The Bell). It is a welcoming, friendly and vibrant village that hosts a number of events including church services, cricket matches, an annual horticultural village show, and a renowned classic car show. The Village Hall offers a variety of exercise classes, events and talks.
Chearsley is located three miles north of the market town of Thame, 13 miles east of the major city of Oxford, and 40 miles north-west of London. Chearsley lies two miles east of the Oxfordshire border. It is a peaceful village to unwind in or to use as a base for exploring.
Picturesque neighbouring villages include Ashendon, Cuddington (with its Village Picture House screening Live and Encore presentations from the National Theatre as well as blockbuster and classic films), Haddenham (the walled wychert village and home of Haddenham and Thame Parkway station), Long Crendon (the home of Notley Barn, the prestigious wedding and event venue - just a 5 minute drive from The Cottage) and Nether Winchendon (a beautiful hamlet often used as a film location). There are wonderful countryside walks to each.
Further afield, you can explore Waddesdon Manor, Oxford, Bleinham Palace and Bicester Village ... to name a few!
