Enjoy the large patio deck preparing dinner on the bbq or gathered together around the designated fire pit. This three bedroom home offers sleeping arrangements for up to 6 individuals. The open concept kitchen and living room offers spectacular views of the ocean and mountains through large glass windows. This quiet home provides all the amenities you will need for your stay including internet, desk and TVs in two of the bedrooms as well as in the living room should you want to catch a movie or keep up on sports or the news during your stay. Lindsay was an amazing host! Very detailed instructions and great communications. The place was exactly as described, very clean and beautifully decorated. The area is private but also not too remote. Lots of space inside the home, and it was very relaxing to look out to the water even on a rainy day. I have recommended to friends already after they saw my photos! Will love to stay with Lindsay again in the future!
Gorgeous location. Beautiful home. Had everything we needed. Great base to explore the area - or hang out by the fire pit or sauna. Loads of wildlife- watched seals & sea otters playing in the waves in front of us. Very charming & responsive host.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough! The location was perfect, with incredible views and water teeming with wildlife. We saw loads of birds, seals, sea lions, and even a pod of orcas with the binoculars the hosts left for us. We enjoyed the sauna and kayaks and the house itself was comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen and lots of books and games. Lindsay was a great host, super responsive and friendly. I’m already planning my next trip back!

We spent 4 magical nights here. It is so calm and peaceful, right on the water. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The sauna and outdoor shower were the cherry on top!There is even a supermarket and a cafe within a 10-min walk. This was an outstanding trip and we can wait to come back!

Sunset Ocean Place is a great place for a vacation getaway. The house is right on the beach, less than an hour north of Nanaimo’s Departure Bay ferry. It faces Hornby and Denman Islands and the lighthouse on Chrome Island and offers both amazing sunrise and sunset skies to the south east and north west respectfully.
Sunset Ocean Place is conveniently located in Bowser approximately 20 minutes north of Qualicum Beach and 25 minutes south of Courtney. Deep Bay with its government marina and Ship and Shore boat ramp (pay for use) and restaurant (seasonal) is only a 5-minute drive north providing easy access to what is boasted to be the best fish and chips on Vancouver Island. There are beautiful provincial parks with lakes, beaches and picnic areas within a short drive of the house, including: Rosewall Creek Provincial Park - (7 min), Nile Creek Trailhead (16 min), Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park (25 min), Horne Lake Caves (30 min), Buccaneer Beach (5 min), Qualicum Beach (20 min), Parksville Community Park (30 min), Goose Spit Regional Park (45 min) and Miracle Beach (55 min).
The friendly village of Bowser is a short walk up the driveway (or a 2-minute drive) and offers Tomm’s Food Village, a fully stocked supermarket with a wonderful on-site bakery, the Footless Rooster Coffee, a coffee shop / café, the Salish Sea Market, an art store selling exclusive curated collection of art and gifts from local artists, in addition to the Lighthouse Gift Shop, a liquor store, post office, pharmacy, hardware store and even a library. More shopping, country markets, restaurants and pubs are just down the road, including: Qualicum Beach Café, Cookoos (in Coombs where the famous goats on the roof are), Sandbar Café and Art Gallery, and seasonally the Tidal Taco Shack, Cone Zone and Ship and Shore.
Sunset Ocean Place is a perfect base for a golfing vacation with several top-class public courses within a short drive of the house. These include: Arrowsmith Golf and Country Club (16 min), Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club (20 min drive), Eaglecrest Golf Club (22 min drive), Pheasant Glen Golf Resort (22 min drive). There are reportedly an additional 13 public golf courses within 40 km of Bowser!
For the skiers, the Mt. Washinton Alpine Resort, a year-round recreation destination, is less than an hour drive from Sunset Ocean Place. From December through March the resort offers over 1,700 acres and 505 vertical meters of alpine terrain, 55kms of cross-country skiing and 25kms of snowshoeing trails along with a dedicated Nordic lodge, Tube Park and Fat Bike trails.
And finally, for those who want to take their relaxation to the next level there are two top class spas, the Kingfisher Oceanside Resort and Spa which offers its Pacific Mist Hydropath and the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort both within a 30-minute drive from Sunset Ocean Place.
There are no buses that go into Bowser. There are buses up to Qualicum Beach.
