A wonderful place to explore Hammond Hill forest and the greater Ithaca area. Lots of beautiful trails. Foot paths and bike trails alike. Not a place to party. It’s a wonderful place to rest and relax.
A lovely location to commune with trees. Clean communal outdoor kitchen.
Susan is a wonderful host. It’s a beautiful area and the campground is very well maintained. I believe the main difference between this campground and others is that you would not have rowdy parties right next to you, it’s quiet, respectful and very considerate environment. Do not hesitate to stay with Susan, it’s a perfect option.
Eshay was a fantastic host and very accommodating. I will remember my time at CEC very fondly and can't wait to return in the future.
Loved the Meadow Vole cabin at CEC and wish I had more excuses to visit and stay again! Our particular cabin came with the unique campground creature comforts of electricity, a mini fridge, and a fan which was extra nice. The showers were very close (the tiny walk to them was a non-issue), hot and they with the bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The site had a good sized firepit and firewood was available for purchase if you didn’t want to forage wood nearby. There was a double sink dishwashing station (hot and cold water) near the facilities with excellent drinkable well water. We were lucky to have landed on a weekend when a pancake and oatmeal breakfast over an outdoor campfire was offered - wonderful! Eshay was very friendly, welcoming, and a delight to chat with! My husband and I like hiking and we were pleasantly surprised that we could easily catch a trail straight from the grounds - saw lots of Red Efts! Also, at just under 20 mins from Ithaca I’m glad my husband and I chose to stay with Eshay over a hotel -the fireflies, stars, fresh air, and rustic atmosphere was rejuvenating for the soul and set a positive outlook for the day. Highly recommend this host, cabin, and campgrounds!!

Welcome to Camp Earth Connection, a beautiful Woodland Campground and Retreat Center located adjacent to the Hammond Hill State Forest. My story: First, I'm know by friends and family as Eshay, although my legal name is Susan, so please call me Eshay, as you are my welcomed guests. I live the life I love, and have spent much of it designing inclusive program for people of all ages to support their connection with nature, the forest and each other. In 2002 I was able to purchase and become the caretaker of this beautiful parcel of land, 12 miles from Ithaca, NY which became Camp Earth Connection. For 13 years, I designed and created children's summer camps to offer families and children from the local community opportunities to learn, play and connect to nature in a very intimate way. I worked with local foundations and grantors to provide some of these programs free of charge to children and families from urban areas and disenfranchised communities. In 2010, I designed and offered the first Healing Hearts Women's Retreat at the camp. In 2015 I opened a small "Woodland Campground." The campground is designed to give each guest some private space allowing them the opportunity to experience nature in its wildest setting. I offer a variety of camping options are available to meet the needs of each individual, family and group. Camp Earth Connection is committed to Diversity, Acceptance and Community. Camp Earth Connection is an alcohol and drug free facility providing opportunities to experience a deep connection with the natural world here on Hammond Hill. I hope you have the opportunity to visit me this season. I am ever grateful to live and be the caretaker of this beautiful land and would love you to experience the peace and tranquility that it brings to myself and others who visit. My camp companion is a young dog named Druid. He will be overly pleased to greet you too, as will any of my amazingly wonderful family of children and grandchildren who frequent the camp often. Update: Sadly canine companion, Taz passed on in February of 2022. He will be dearly missed.
