Unfortunately, this was not a pleasant stay. Negatives: First and foremost the place was very dirty. There was hair / facial hair everywhere, the toilets were very dirty and there were old and sticky stains (incl. blood stains) in the bathroom and kitchen. The place smelled very bad incl. the sheets and towels that had lots of brown greasy stains on them. The outside area was very messy, the kitchen was sticky and dirty and my room was dusty and smelled of cigarette smoke. It was very dirty overall and I had the feeling it had not been cleaned in a long time. I saw cockroaches a few times in the kitchen and living area. At some point, I asked the host, when the place would be cleaned next and a few days later they knocked on my door late at night when I was already in bed and gave me a vacuum cleaner which felt a little weird. Positives: The check-in was easy and flexible and the communication with the host was very good and uncomplicated, but it took a few days for them to respond

I didn't realise that this was a smoking venue. As a militant non-smoker, this was difficult for me personally. If I kept my door shut, and window open, I was able to limit the passive smoking. Hallways were very tricky and smoke laden. All smoke detectors were disabled. Personally quite confronting. Benchtops in kitchen very sticky. Shared bathroom and toilets quite dirty. My room hadn't been vacuumed or dusted and several items after a week were visibly covered in smoke ash. You know the old saying: pay peanuts, you get monkeys. I wouldn't stay here again because I don't like to smell of cigarettes and I value my long term health.
