Es war ein wundervoller Aufenthalt! Die Wohnung liegt mitten in der Altstadt von Trastevere mit Blick auf einen idyllischen Innenhof. Die Ausstattung ist authentisch und schön, es hat nichts gefehlt. Mein Gastgeber Carlo war super freundlich und hat tolle Tipps für Entdeckungen in der Gegend gegeben.
Excellention and comfortable stay
The apartment is very cosy, simple and just in the middle of Trastevere area. We could easy find nice restaurants, shops and bars. Till Colosseum was only 35 min by walk. It was a little bit cold in the night and the pillows were too hard for me. It was also loud in the night, we could hear steps in the entry and in the next apartments.

Great place right in the hustle and bustle of Travestere which is amazing for restaurants but close to te river to be able to walk into the city centre. It’s understandably in the centre of a very busy social area and most places don’t shut until 12 or later so expect a little noise. Good base and comfortable accommodation.

The name Trastevere is derived from Latin, trans Tiberium; ‘beyond the Tiber’. This old working-class neighbourhood with its narrow alleyways and medieval houses is a particularly lively affair at night with lots of restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias.
Trastevere at the days of emperor Augustus, was also walled. Several important Romans built villas in this neighbourhood, including Julius Caesar.
walking through the characteristic alleysYou can reach the Botanical Garden; the Gianicolo Hill with the most beautiful view of Rome, the Tiberina Island and the open air market in Piazza San Cosimato (open from monday to satturday in the morning)
In Viale Trastevere there are the main buses and the characteristic Tram 8 which reaches Piazza Venezia. You will also find buses along the Lungotevere.
You can park on the Lungotevere or on the slopes of the Gianicolo.
