Kick back after an exciting day in Melbourne at this peaceful and centrally-located yarraville village home. A great night sleep in a queen bed, breakfast on the garden deck before heading out to the city centre only 20 minutes by train. After a tiring day grab a coffee or cook a meal in stylish and welcoming shared spaces. Have a chat and take in a Netflix movie on the couch, or continue your evening by taking a 5 minute walk to the cool bars and restaurants in yarraville village. Period charm meets stylish comforts in my yarraville renovated 1910 2 bedroom cottage. Whilst only 2 mins walk from train and village centre this is a very quiet street. Your bedroom is well appointed with a adjustable sit down/standup workstation including monitor and keyboard. The queen size bed boasts a quality mattress for a good nights rest. Set back from the street it’s very peaceful. The rest of the house is shared space with just myself. The living room and kitchen opens out onto a garden and deck (with a small gas bbq) so all feels light and airy. The kitchen is well appointed with cooker microwave Nespresso coffee machine and dishwasher. The bathroom just off the kitchen includes a deep bath and separate shower with rain shower head, twin sinks and the toilet. A washing machine is also included. Note there is no dryer but you are welcome to dry washing outside or inside on wet days. Main living room has split cycle air conditioning and heating which serves the house well but a portable oil heater/fan is available for the guest room.

The best host ever!! 에어비앤비를 자주 이용했지만 호스트와 함께 생활하는 경험은 처음이었습니다. 그래서 도착하기 전까지는 여러 가지 걱정이 많았어요. 하지만 집에 도착하고나선 모든 걱정이 사라졌습니다. Matt은 정말 좋은 호스트예요. Matt은 게스트가 교류를 원하면 언제든지 함께 대화를 할 준비가 되어 있고, 반대로 게스트가 적당한 거리감을 원하면 그것을 분명 존중할 것 입니다. 저는 Matt과 교류하는 것을 좋아해서 자주 대화를 나눴어요. 그는 훌륭한 대화 상대이기도 합니다. 집은 항상 깔끔하고 청결합니다. 사진과 같이 잘 꾸며져 있습니다. 제가 생활한 방도 아주 좋았어요. 다른 후기에서 언급한 것처럼 침대도 굉장히 편해요. 동네도 조용하고 아름답습니다. 집주변은 조용하지만 Yarraville에는 매력적인 가게들이 있어요. 역까지는 도보로 2~3분밖에 걸리지 않고 Southern Cross역까지는 12분이 소요됩니다. 다시 Melbourne에 오게 된다면 이 곳에 머무를 생각입니다.

Had a wonderful stay at Matts house and Sula the dog was gorgeous,, would highly recommend . Yarraville is lovely and so near by train to the city or the beach
I have truly enjoyed my stay at Matt’s place. From the first time I step into the house, I was greeted warmly by Matt and his adorable & gentle fur baby Sula. I felt right at home and very comfortable with the bedroom, shared living area and kitchen. Matt was super accomodating to my needs and very friendly and we ended up having some really good conversations during my stay. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Matt’s place if you’re looking for comfort, quality and a cute little village to explore at your doorstep! I know where I’ll be staying next time I’m in the area again :-) Thanks again Matt & Sula for having me around.
Thank you Matthew for providing such a homely and peaceful space. The bed was super comfy and location to the village was perfect. I travelled for work but loved the house, host and area so much that I will definitely be back with my husband to make a weekend stay. 😊

Yarraville was voted in the top five coolest neighbourhoods in the world in a timeout poll in 2020. With a diverse population It really is a village in the sense it has a pedestrian centre and historic buildings housing quirky cafes wine bars and restaurants. So it feels quite European compared to most urban enclaves in Australia. The famous art deco Sun theatre is a draw card for Melbourne residents and tourists alike. Eateries cover pretty much any cuisine you can think of. There are two smaller supermarkets 5 mins walk in the village or a large one a short drive away. Outside the village it’s a quiet and pretty residential area with tree lined streets and cute cottages.
I have a guest parking voucher and there’s always on street parking available within metres . My house is 2 minutes walk to the yarraville train station, where you can be 15 mins by train to Williamstown beach or 15 minutes to southern cross station for easy connection to the airport or regional transportation. 5 minutes further to flinders street station which is the heart of Melbourne. We are 5 minutes drive to the motorway that leads to the surf coast so the right side of Melbourne for access to iconic great ocean road. Approximately 30 minutes drive to airport, or about an hour by train and bus with easy connections between yarraville and southern cross bus station.
