Llandovery is perfectly positioned to explore Carmarthenshire as well as being right on the edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Spend a day hiking, biking and exploring waterfalls in picturesque surroundings.
Supermarkets:
There are two supermarkets within walking distance, one of which is a Co-Op. There are also newsagents, a Bakery, an Ice Cream parlour, antique shops and much more all within 5 mins walk of this property.
Where we would recommend:
Llandovery Castle- Towering above the confluence between two rivers, Afon Brân and Afon Gwydderig in the Tywi Valley this castle will have been an imposing sight in its heyday during the 12th and 13th centuries.
Within walking distance of the apartment, Llandovery castle is one of the best castles in the West of the National Park and you’ll be rewarded with an imposing ruin on top of a rocky hillock overlooking Afon Brân.
Llyn Brianne Resevoir- Enjoy a visit to the Resovoir where you can take part in many activities which include bird watching, fishing, stargazing, mountain biking and walking.
The Cave of Twm Siôn Cati- Twm Sion Cati earned a reputation as a Welsh Robin Hood. Known for roaming the rugged west and mid part of Wales, robbing from the rich, but somehow forgetting the bit about giving to the poor. It is said that Twm often hid from his arch enemy the Sheriff of Carmarthen in a cave on the slopes of the densely wooded and rugged Dinas Hill, about 12 miles north of Llandovery, close to the village of Rhandirmwyn. Here the mountain river Pysgotwr joins the larger River Towy and roars through the rocky gorge below the cave.
Dolaucothi Gold Mine- Hidden in these wooded hillsides is evidence of Roman gold mining dating back over 2,000 years

The owners of the property run a very popular pub/restaurant called The Bear Inn just 5 mins walk away serving a great mixture of locally sourced meat dishes, a variety of homemade vegetarian and Vegan options along with a great selection of premium drinks and a smashing wine list. Discounts are available for Bear Appartments guests! There are 3 other pubs in the area and a selection of Chinese, Indian and Turkish takeaways all within 5 mins walk of the property.

Parking- There are some spaces outside of the apartment but these are limited and guests should be mindful of how long they are parked there. For long-term parking, guests should use the pay nearby paid parking at Castle Street parking. This is located opposite The Bear pub.
The train station is just a short 5-minute walk from the property.
The bus station is a short 5-minute walk from the property.
