Old Orchards is a lovely two-bedroom lodge on the Aynsmome Manor private lodge park, just a 15-minute walk from Cartmel Village and a short drive from the Victorian seaside town of Grange-over-Sands. Having been refurbished internally, the lodge comprises two bedrooms - a double and a triple, a shower room, a kitchen, a spacious living area with comfy seating, a gas fire, and doors opening on the wooden patio. The lodge sits at the upper end of the park, under the canopies of the surrounding trees. Directly next to the lodge is a large expanse of lawn, perfect for kids to enjoy a bit of a runaround. Sitting outside on the patio area with a bottle of wine is the perfect way for the adults to relax, perhaps after a day out exploring the South Lakes. Exploring the South Lakes couldn't be easier; Old Orchards Lodge is within easy reach of popular visitor areas, including Windermere, Bowness, Coniston and Newby Bridge, where you can hop onboard the Windermere Cruises, and sail north to Bowness, Ambleside, Brockhole Visitors Centre and Wray Castle. If you do fancy it, why not stroll into Cartmel Village, less than 15-minutes walk away, where you will find no less than three pubs, a brewery tap room, a wine bar, a coffee shop and the world-famous 3-Michelin-star L’Enclume Restaurant. Cartmel is also home to the popular Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding - if you haven't tried it yet, you must! We love it, especially with ice cream! Cartmel is also well-known for the Cartmel Racecourse, which hosts races throughout the year. Old Orchards is ideal for accommodation near Cartmel Racecourse should you plan to attend Cartmel Races. The central location of the lodge makes it easy to visit other popular areas of the Lakes, including Kendal, Windermere and Coniston. There is so much to see and do in or around the area of the lodge that makes it ideal for families, friends or perhaps a romantic couple to visit. ACCOMMODATION SUMMARY Kitchen / Dining Area - Double electric oven, induction hob, fridge with freezer box Living room - Three-seat sofa, armchair, flatscreen TV, and a gas fire. Door leading to the wooden deck patio. Bedroom 1 - Double bed with fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 - Double bed with a single bed over. Fitted wardrobe with a chest of drawers. Shower room - Walk-in shower cubicle with electric shower, basin and toilet.

A wonderful paradise in the farmlands of the Lake District! Super close to Windermere lake, we visited everyday just by 20 min drive. The location has loads of free space and land to walk around. Small farm nearby with chickens and cows. Cozy Airbnb with good appliances and furniture. Beds good. Toilet clean. Definitely would recommend my friends to visit! Such a cool place. Cartmel village/town only 4 mins drive away, really close by and lovely breakfast at the pubs! I would not give 5 stars as the Airbnb hosts tried to claim money from us for a soiled mattress on their bunk bed. This was not our fault and was shocking to receive a £200 claim for damages on a soiled mattress we barely even used! Airbnb rejected the claim and supported us! Otherwise, the hosts were lovely!
The lodge was ok but had a strange smell when we arrived and needed airing out. A kitchen cupboard door fell off its hinges nearly knocking my husband out!! Parts of the cabin were kept well while others were very run down. This was a nice enough place to stay but I wouldn’t return which is a shame because the area was lovely.
Had a lovely stay here - lodge was spotless and was just as it looked in the pictures. The location was great - just a short walk from Cartmel - and was very peaceful. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back!
