“The Old Cockpit” dates back to the Doomsday book it is grade 2 listed and has been lovingly restored to a peaceful, romantic getaway to what listed building has enabled us to do for a BnB location. We are a rustic and quaint little barn, if you like old properties this is for you. This beautiful thatched 1 bed barn conversion in Woolavington, Somerset is the perfect place to get away and explore Somerset. Located in the heart of Somerset yet only 5 minutes from the M5. *** 5 Dec 23 Note : we are currently having issues with the WiFi and have been told that it will be restored by 19 Dec 23*** The bedroom is beautifully made up with Egyptian cotton bed linen a lovely en-suite all to a good standard. The stairs to the downstairs is a large ladder, so if you struggle with stairs it might not be for you. Downstairs has an aga and seating at a table for 2, the floor is flag sones and is uneven as it was an old cock fighting pit, due to listed buildings regs we are unable to deal with that so as I said rustic but beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. We had the perfect stay. Small details add to such a lovely experience. Lucinda was very accommodating when we he to rearrange. Highly recommend
The location was lovely to stay in. It was very peaceful and the host was great. To completely switch off, I would visit again.
Great little space, For two it's perfect and we used the place to access Glastonbury roughly about 15mins away by car. Peaceful and cosy cottage with all the things needed for a comfortable safe.
This was a lovely, unique Barn and was in a good location just off the M5 - so it is easy to find . The Barn had Good quality amenities, shower facilities and a nice comfy love seat. There was a public walkway through a field not far away which was perfect to walk through when the sun was setting after check-in. Sadly the WiFi wasn't working when we were there and we didn't get signal - not a bad thing if you fancy a technology detox. We did visit at a very cold time of the year and I wish I'd brought more layers, so I would recommend bringing thick layers and blankets for the downstairs area. The hairdryer did not work properly either, thankfully I gave myself enough time in the morning to get this done before leaving. Otherwise, a good night to remember in a very cool Old Cockpit.

Woolavington is peaceful village on the edge of the Somerset levels. Situated between Street and Bridgewater and only 5 minutes from Jn23 of M5 it is a quiet village with beautiful Somerset countryside on the doorstep.
Glastonbury with the Cathedral, Tor and Festival(!) is 15 minutes away.
Street, Somerton, Bridgwater & Wells are all a short drive away.
Woolavington is 5 mins from the M5 and Bridgwater railway station is 10minutes away. A bus runs through the village from Bridgwater to Street and on to Wells, but a car gives best flexibility for exploring the local area
