The Town of Bowers is located on the Delaware Bay in central Delaware. Just go about 6 miles south of the Dover Air Force base on Rt. 1, take exit 88 at Little Heaven and head east for 3 miles.
Nestled between the Murderkill and St. Jones Rivers, with easy access to waterways and coastal habitats, Bowers offers a wide variety of activities for the eco-tourist. Several families of Osprey and Bald Eagles make Bowers their home as well as Blue Herons, Egrets, Surf Scooters, Oyster Catchers and other shore birds. Bowers is a stop for migrating Red Knots that come to feed on Horseshoe crab eggs to refuel for the next leg of their trip. Dolphin are in abundance in the Bay as well as an occasional seal. Visitors are welcome at the St. Jones Reserve just across the St. Jones River easily accessible by kayak or canoe.
Bowers has always been a mecca for the sports enthusiast providing excellent venues for hunting and fishing with easy access to state lands and the Delaware Bay.
Seasonally, a head boat runs out of the Murderkill from one of the local wharfs and has public boat ramps with ample parking for recreational water sports including power boating, water skiing, personal watercraft, and sail boating.
Two convenient accesses to the public beach with free parking provide areas for surf fishing, canoeing and paddle boarding.
The calm waters of the Delaware Bay provide a safe environment for swimming... or just relax in the sun, fly a kite, search for sea glass, or build a sand castle.

Bowers is a very walkable town, and the home has private parking for guests as well as space to park your small boat.
