I could write a novel about my entire stay at Great Pond but I will try to keep it short and simple. Joseph and Penny are the most generous and friendly hosts i’ve ever encountered. They made sure we always felt comfortable and safe, had coffee in the morning, and always offered help. The views at the lake are incredible, serene and peaceful which made our stay that much more enjoyable. We loved every part of our stay and are happy to have this campground become our new home away from home for years to come.
This place was exactly what I was looking for.. quiet, calming and serene We had a storm and it rained all day the day after we arrived but we had such a cozy vibe happening with the wood stove and the rain hitting the roof.. it was so nice and I highly recommend as a getaway and a way to detach from the stress of normal living..

Dad taught us to work and play hard in the Maine Woods. My first taste of camp life was Mother's Day weekend in 1961. No electricity and no running water. Mom was horrified that Dad's holiday surprise was wilderness waterfront camping; she had 4 little boys with 2 in cloth diapers. But, she found out it was great fun. Dad passed years ago, but Mom still comes to hear the loons, watch the eagles, and enjoy the campfire. You should come too.
