Crumpet Cottage is a delightful semi-detached cottage, which sits in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by rolling countryside and pretty villages, and is ideally situated for exploring the Dorset countryside or nearby Jurassic Coast. Crumpet Cottage, located in the pretty hamlet of Chebbard, has been lovingly refurbished to create a luxurious and comfortable holiday home, providing the perfect base for your Dorset adventures. Close to the quaint and attractive villages of Cheselbourne, Melcombe Bingham, Ansty and Dewlish. The cottage is perfect for a family or couples break and accommodates up to four guests in comfort. Subject to availability, its neighbour Cosy Cottage and nearby Creaky Cottage can also be booked to offer additional accommodation for large families. Throughout the cottage you will find wonderful styling with high quality and tasteful furnishings, and luxury touches. On the ground floor is an attractive sitting room with the original exposed brick feature fireplace and a wood burning stove, leading through to a open-plan kitchen and dining room, with bi-folding doors offering easy access to the patio area, with views of the beautiful wild flower bank with its poppies and cornflowers (in season). The patio terrace is the ideal space for alfresco dining, or enjoying your morning coffee. The cottage has a useful entrance porch and boot room, a utility/laundry room, and a cloakroom, all located on the ground floor. At the front of the property, you will find a further patio area with garden furniture, and a rolling lawn with a bench where you can enjoy more of glorious rural views, framed by mature trees, and thoughtful planting including lavender bushes. On the first floor are two well-appointed bedrooms, with comfortable beds, and luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding. You are invited to relax and unwind in the plush Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows for a further touch of luxury. Both bedrooms offer views over the cottage garden and surrounding landscape. You will find a generous family bathroom on the first floor. Crumpet Cottage is ideally placed for those who enjoy walking or cycling, with numerous footpaths, and quaint villages nearby. There is plenty to explore within the area including Dorset's second highest hill of Bulbarrow, which offers exceptional views right across Dorset. The market towns of Dorchester, Blandford, Sherborne, Shaftesbury, Wareham and Wimborne are all within easy reach, with plenty of choice for pubs, restaurants and shopping. The glorious Jurassic Coast, including famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door is just a short drive away, making the property perfectly situated for enjoying all of the delights of Dorset. A 5 minute drive away is the village of Cheselbourne, which then leads on to Melcombe Bingham and Ansty, where you can purchase your provisions at the Brewery Farm Shop, selling meat, fruit and vegetables, newspapers etc. A post office is also open here on weekday mornings.
Opposite the farm shop is the welcoming village pub, The Fox Inn, serving excellent food. Other good local pubs include The Hambro Arms in the beautiful village of Milton Abbas, 15 minutes' drive away; The Brace of Pheasants at Plush, approx 20 minutes' drive away; The River Arms at Cheselbourne, 3 minutes' drive away, and The Thimble Inn at Piddlehinton.
Just a 30 minute drive from Chebbard, you will find the popular market town of Sherborne, well-situated and with easy access to all of Dorset and Somerset. There are numerous attractions within the area, just a short drive away such as Sherborne Castle and Gardens, Sherborne Old Castle, & Minterne Gardens.
Cerne Abbas is a charming and quaint village that is world renowned for the The Cerne Abbas Giant. , a 180 ft high ancient chalk figure carved out into the steep sloping hillside above the village. There are three popular pubs including The New Inn, which is known for it's first class service and excellent food.
Milton Abbas is a charming, thatched village with a post office, farm shop and the beautiful 15th Century Milton Abbey. For a family friendly pub serving gourmet meals, visit The Hambro Arms.
There are an abundance of activities on offer locally and it's only 20 miles from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site where you will find some breath-taking scenery, beautiful beaches and fantastic walks.
